Oh Scott we miss you!! I`m 9 posts behind Miss Native NYer..

I wish I had to leave for the dog...
Mine died today... She was sick for about a month. the meds werent working. shes lost about 30 lbs. took her back today for one last visit and to maybe make an appt to put her down. Dr put her on some new Antibiotics, (anemia, and probably cancer she said) for the weekend..went to dinner to get my 10 YO s mind off of her,,he cried through dinner,,,came home and she had died on the kitchen floor while we were gone..Ben was the first one in the house too.. she looked like she was just resting like a normal dog..She was ready. I know she wanted to go..I could see it..we had 9 years with her...I will post a picture of her over on the Focker thread ..

I am so sorry to hear that I completely understand.

Sorry about your dog.

I am so sorry to hear that I completely understand.

The Vet did mention to think about cremation for her..but I think I`d rather have her in the back. I had fully expected to put her to sleep maybe tonite. which is why its so strange that she did it on her own..she knew she wasnt well...

Thanks, I was hoping I was doing the right thing,since shes so big...but then the kids can go and say "hello" to her when they want to..
We have cats, hamsters, and chickens back there. We bought Steves Grandparents farm house, so I dont think we`ll be selling any time soon!

Your farm house must be beautiful. It must be nice to have a lot of land and property.

Its just a bungalow,arts and crafts style 30`s house. we put alot of work into it, Steves dad sold most of the land for a family neighborhood. we had a choice of a lot for a brand new house or grandmas house which we were were renting.we choose the house for 30 thousand...glad we did..we did the walk up attic and its beautiful, the boys are up there now..but with me staying home with 3 kids, we`ve taken a 30K loan up to 156,,,still cheaper than new I suppose... we have 16 chickens... all my pets!! 3 roosters out of them...some of them are silkies..they have fur and are real cute!!
