Has anyone used a scooter in the theme parks that they brought with them? Have you had any trouble with the batteries dying or are there places they will let you plug in? I am worried that my scooter's battery won't last all day. Thanks!

Hi,

i took mine. I had problems only when we were gone ALL day and when I let my daughter ride part of the time. Mine has a battery life of about 9 miles or so (so not a really long battery life). Battery life is very weight dependent so I'm sure I'd have run out of battery life if I weighed a lot more than I do. I'm about 130 lbs.

Most people will not have a problem with battery life. As the other poster mentioned, the more weight the ECV is carrying, the more power it uses. When you rent an ECV, they will ask your weight so that they can give you an appropriate one for your weight. Also keep in mind how much weight you are carrying with you in backpacks, etc.
Some other things that affect the power consumption are going up hills and going on rough surfaces.
Also, when you are sitting still for a while, turn off the power so it doesn't continue to use power while you are sitting still (it's also safer that way).

If you are concerned, bring the charger with you and plug it in while eating or resting for a while. There is a link about where to find power outlets in the disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of the board.
