Hi everyone,
Long time lurker.., thank you all for your insights and posts as we plan for DL (8/7-9).

DH has hurt his foot - turf toe. I am thinking he’s gonna need a scooter. Do folks have a place they recommend? We are staying at the BW park place so easy access to the room for icing etc. He’s going to try to power through but I prefer to be prepared. Better have info and not need it than be scrambling.

Thanks!

My husband used D&R mobility in November of last year. It’s in the grand legacy hotel but they will drop off at surrounding hotels too. It was great and the scooter never ran low on battery, which was our main concern.

It looks like there’s a scooter place in the BW Park place inn as well. I remember reading that the BW park Place inn only had one elevator working awhile back, I’m not sure if that is still the case. I would maybe call and see if you need to request a ground floor room if you’re going to have a scooter.

My husband had knee surgery and needed extra time to load certain attractions. We could go to the exit of the rides and request a return time to come back. For instance space mtn. Because you need to load and unload so fast at space mtn, we would let them know he needed extra time to load. Then we would get to use the car off to the side that they give you a ton of time to load and unload. It was wonderful and so much less stressful for my husband.

I hope his foot heals quickly and you guys have a wonderful trip!!

There's an ecv/scooter rental counter in the lobby of the BW Park Place Inn. We've never needed a scooter (yet) so I don't know anything about it.

Both elevators were working on our last visit in April. One elevator had been out of commission for quite a while, but in April it looked like it had been replaced with a new one.

We used Scooterbug last week because it's the only place that will deliver to the bell desk at the DLH. I probably won't use them again. There were multiple problems with the one we rented and I had to have it replaced. Then the one they replaced it with was slow.

Good to know about the elevator, thank you!

I have used Select Scooter for many years and many trips. They are located right there in the BWPPI's lobby. Their scooters hold a charge for the ENTIRE DAY! I will use them again on my next trip too.

I used the Scooter Hire (Select Mobility) from the lobby of the hotel you are staying in on my last visit and they were great. The ECV was clean and had excellent battery life. The check in process was very easy and they explained everything very well to me (it was my first time using one). We are going again the first week of December and this time I am going to hire mine from One Stop Mobility. They are located in the foyer of the Camelot Inn only a couple of doors down from where you are staying. They are the only place I could find that offered a really good discount for our extended stay, their prices get cheaper the more days you hire from them. If you knew right from the start you definitely wanted to get one perhaps look into their rates first but if you just want to leave it till you arrive and see how you go then hiring from your hotel lobby supplier will be perfect as they are a very good company.
