I rented a scooter from Walker Mobility and the experience was awful. I personally spoke to the owner John Walker and he was one of the most egotisical and rudest people I've ever had to deal with. I would NOT recommend this company.
Could you please share with us some of your concerns, EastCoastRoller?
My SIL & her family will be in WDW in a couple weeks, and I advised her to check out Walker Mobility. I hope I didn't steer her wrong.
Thanks.
Gretchen
All of the companies have complaints from guests from time to time. I am sorry the OP had a problem.
There are many people who have rented from Walker without problem over the years. If you want to check out some other companies, follow the link in my signature to the disABILITIES FAQs thread. Post #2 of that thread has a number of companies listed that rent ECVs and wheelchairs (including Walker).
All of the companies listed in the FAQs thread are ones that have had many positive experiences and a few negative ones reported over the years. Each company has some posters who would never rent from them again because of their experience and others who would always rent from them because their experiences have been so good. So, I would not let a couple of bad reviews turn you away from a company. I encourage people to contact a number of companies to get a feel for which one will work best for them; you can usually get a pretty good idea what the customer service will be like from calling or emailing.
Of course that's true, Sue. There's no way you can please all the people all the time...
Just wondered what was so horrendous...
From what I've read elsewhere, this must be an abberation and not the norm.
Thanks!

We use Walkers every time we take my mom down there and have never had a problem. We've spoken to John Walker multiple times and have never found him to be anything but polite and professional. We highly recommend them.
