We need to rent a scooter for my elderly mother to use in December for 3 days, we will be staying at the Poly and need it to be delivered. We've never done this before, so if any of you have a preferred rental company I would appreciate any suggestions. My mother is a tiny person so she wouldn't need anything big at all, in fact smaller would be better. I've researched it online and there are so many rental companies, I did find a really small model from Scooterorlando.com, but I don't have anything to compare them to. Again any insight would be great. Thanks.

If you look in the FAQ's section at the start of the forum, there are listings for tried and true rental companies. I have also heard nothing but great things about Apple scooters. I know the Pride Go-Go scooters are nice small scooters. I have the 3 wheeled, Pride Go-Go Elite Traveler Plus as my own personal scooter and love it. It is a nice small scooter.

We rented from Buena Vista Scooter Rentals for my Dad. The scooter was very nice and was waiting for us at the resort's bell service when we checked in ... we simply had to leave it with bell services when we checked out. I did everything online and was very pleased.

It was our first scooter experience, so I was confused as well with all the choices. I wound up picking the Revo because it could be broken down if we wanted to put it in the trunk of our car (we never did this since my parents only visited Epcot with us and we were staying at the Boardwalk). My Dad found the scooter to be easy to use and it seemed pretty compact (the Disney rentals seemed like ancient beasts next to the Revo).

My wife and i have been very pleased with vacation scootors in orlando. They offer different size scootors at different prices. They will deliver your scootor any where in orlando. Good luck, spencer

hi everybody, a newbie here.:cool2:
we go to wdw 2-3 times a year and always use walker mobility.
they delivered and picked up to our hotel on disney property and international drive (the clarion).
never had a problem with their scooters, even when I forgot to recharge it after a long day at epcot and celebration.
great people, highly recommended.:yay:

I have used Walker Mobility once or twice a year for several years. My experience has always been very good. As the previous poster said, they deliver and pick up from whatever resort you are staying at. We have even changed resorts, so delivery and pick up are at two different resorts. The staff is always friendly and helpful before, during and after our rental period.

The scooters are the three wheel kind. They are relatively easy to dismantle and put back together, an they can be accommodated on WDW transportation.

Just want to put in a good word for Walker Mobility, as well. We've used them on several trips to WDW and our scooter(s) has always been there at the resort waiting for us. :thumbsup2 They've always been in excellent condition and I feel they have decent rates. Also, I know that WDW uses them too because the IPO at the Polynesian used them to order our scooters for us on this last trip.

Go to allearsnet.com they have a few recommendations. We have used several of them for scooters and had nothing but good things to say about it.

If you look in post #2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread, you will find lots of links and phone numbers for companies that DIS posters have recommended over the years.

Run like as fast as you can from this company! To start the scooter was delivered with severe body damage and a bent ignition key. The body damage was so severe that pieces of the scooter fell off while being ridden. The real nightmare began when the key that had to be straightened, finally broke-off in the ignition. We called the rental company and they told us that I now owe them $30 for damaging the scooter! They promised to come to my hotel room either that night or the next morning to fix the scooter, but I needed to have $30 in cash to pay for the repair. They never showed on either day and when I called, I was told that they did not have the time to fix the scooter, but I still needed to leave the $30 with the scooter at the concierge desk when I return the scooter. The scooter was unusable for the last 3 days of my trip. Do yourself a favor, use Buena Vista Scooter Rental. They have never let us down.

We always use Walker Mobility for my mom's ECV. We've always had excellent service with them.

If you do a search a lot of people like Apple Scooters. They have great rates and from what people say great customer service. I will be using them in December.

Yes - I am adding them to the list on post #2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread.
Several people suggested adding them, but I have not had time yet.

I will be trying two Apple Scooters as well in November and hope we have good luck with them. Will report back when we return. I've been leary due to comments on a site that challenged their IP address, like they are hiding something but further down there was a glowing recommendation that made me want to give them a try. We need to put two units in the back of a Ford Flex and the Go-Go Elite Traveler Plus they advertise sounds like they will do the trick. To be certain, we checked the unit out locally and it looks promising.

Apple scooter is who I used just a week ago. We rented one for my Mom and it was at the POP waiting for us. I had trouble taking it apart to put in the car (Mom won't do the buses with it) and when we called them and left a message they called me back in no less than 2 minutes and talked me through taking it apart and removing the batteries etc. Very, very good customer service and the gentleman I spoke with (Jose) gave me his cell number in case I had trouble at the parks. I think they are the best, have great rates, and can't be beat! :)

glad to see other options besides buena vista rentals. we rented from them 2years go - unit malfunctioned. db had to carry/drag it from spaceship earth to international gateway in EPCOT, while dad hobbled in pain.
when we called at about 4pm on friday, BV rentals were really arrogant and nasty, and told us it was too late for them to do anything, and to call back on monday. we finally had to threaten to call the cc company and reverse the charges if they did not help. they did get us a new unit the next day, but i would NOT recoomend them.
btw, we tolerated the condition of the unit initially (ripped seat, broken headlight, dirty), but their attitude made us swear never to use them again.

I personally had a bad experience with Walker Mobility - which I say only to indicate that mine was different from most - most are good experiences with Walker.

But I won't rent from them again.

I am trying Apple this time and I have been very, very impressed with their front end customer service. I will report back once I return.

None of the companies that are listed in Post #2 of the FAQ are perfect. There have been occasional reports of problems with each of them from time to time. However, the overall level of service provided by those which are listed is so high that it is felt that it is worthwhile to recommend them.

And usually if there is any problem, and you contact them immediately, they will take prompt action to rectify the problem.
