I am looking at renting a Go Go Elite traveler Plus transportable scooter. Was wondering how well the battery held up to a day in the parks? If it won't last all day can you recommend what that will?

That is the scooter that I personally have. I have not had any problem with it lasting all day unless the batteries were going bad. A lot of the length that it will last depends on what your weight is, anything you carry on it, and how fast you use the speed. Just make sure that you turn it off when sitting still for very long. It will help make the battery last longer.

Make sure you charge the battery every night even if it looks ok. You want a full charge everyday at Disney World.

Sometimes we turn ours off even in long ride queues. For parades, fireworks, live shows and so forth you need to turn it off.

I have the HD one and love it. If it has the AH 18 or AH 20 batteries, it will last all day and more. You still need to charge it every day, but you will not have any problems. If you are using a car, you can take the battery in separately and charge it rather than having to take the whole scooter in. When you call about renting the scooter, just ask them about the batteries.

This is the model of my personal scooter. My last trip to WDW, it was having a little trouble after a 16 hour day (10 am to 2 am -- I love late night EMH). It still got me where I needed to go, but it was a little slow and hesitant on slopes, and I had to put it in freewheel and push it up the ramp onto the bus. But it handled 10-12 hour days just fine. This was in early December, so crowds were low and I was able to travel fairly fast a lot of the time, so that's a factor too.

We rented scooters from both Disney Parks and an outside source. The off property source was the least expensive for the small sized scooter and it lasted long days and nights at Disney World. The scooter was delivered to our resort, fit in our car and only required the battery to be charged each night- we left the scooter in the car. We were extremely pleased!

Keep the charger with you in the parks. There's usually a basket on the front of the scooter and/or a pocket on the back of the seat. If your scooter gets sluggish, or you know the battery is failing, plug it into an outlet at a restaurant while you have a meal. The CM's can show you where the outlets are.

Thanks

If we are still talking about the Go-Go Elite Traveller Plus, yes. It easily comes apart into 5 pieces, the heaviest being about 35 lbs, and fits quite comfortably into my Hyundai trunk. I am able to load and unload it myself.

Otherwise, it depends on the scooter. Some are designed to be "transportable" and come apart easily. These should fit in most trunks. Others fold down somewhat, but don't really come apart and would need a van or SUV. If you need to put it in your trunk, tell the company you are planning to rent from, and they will help you get the model you need.
