scooter question

I have a question about a scooter. Is there a way to adjust the seatback? Last year I endured a week long trip with the seatback very erect. I like just a tiny bit of tilt back similar to what I would do with my car seat at home. I don't want to recline, just go back enough to not be sitting stick straight up.

I'm sure this depends on the brand and style of scooter but any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

None of them that I have ever saw, can tilt.

I don't think you'll find a seat back that reclines even a little because
tilting back puts a lot more stress on your shoulders, as the handles will be further forward the more you recline. Although you can probably ease the tiller toward you to compensate for the backward tilt (if you find a way to accomplish that), I'm not sure it will remain in that position while you're driving and you will have a much harder time getting off the scooter because you will be decreasing the space between the tiller and the front edge of the seat. If you will be renting a scooter from an outside vendor, check to see if the tiller will tilt at all. Sometimes the plastic latch gets broken and the tiller won't move at all.
What you might try is raising the seat, although you'll be changing the center of gravity and increasing the possibility of flipping the scooter over.

put a small pillow on the bottom of the seat back

I like this simple idea. Some stores even sell a particular lower lumbar support for office chairs that could do the same thing as a small pillow and easy to transport and even attach to your seat.

There are ECVs that have adjustable backrests, but they are not usually rented by most vendors, but are bought for personal use.

Here is one called the Pride Mobility Legend, which is not made anymore with a slightly reclining backrest. Here is the link below. On page 31 shows directions to adjust backrest. But I know that you are probably not interested in buying one. It is just hard to fine a scooter to rent like this unless you buy one with the specified seat requirements. Good luck in your search.

Many people own these scooters, but I see that Pride Mobility is no longer making them.

Maybe someone else can help you with better answers.
