Anyone have experiences with this scooter that can be broken down and transported in a car? Most notably - it comes with 2 batteries , is there a place on the scooter to store the second battery? Thank you

Yes, I use one for my mom every time I bring her. The second battery fits in a basket under the seat very easily and it's completely out of the way. Ironically enough, we've rarely had to use it. The batteries have longer life than they advertise but it's definitely nice having the backup at no additional charge just in case.
