Scooter Accessibility on Water Transportation

Which Disney provided watercraft transportation is wheelchair/scooter accessible? Which can we 'ride' on and which can we walk on (and have someone load the wheelchair/scooter)?

We've ridden ECV's on the boats between the Port Orleans resorts and Downtown Disney, the boats that go between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, and the Liberty Belle.

The ferry boats to MK are accessible.

Larger boats, known as "cruisers" are usually accessible. Occasionally if the water levels are low they are not and alternative transportation will be available. Cruisers run between MK area resorts.

The Friendship boats that run between DHS and Epcot, as well as the Epcot area resorts, are accessible for wheelchairs and offsite ECV rentals. I believe onsite Disney rental ECVs do not fit.

The boats that run between DTD and resorts are accessible.

Smaller boats, known as "launches" are NOT accessible. These run between MK area resorts, and usually alternate with the larger "cruisers" so you may need to wait for the next boat.

Any of the accessible watercraft you should be able to drive/ride directly onto the boat. If using a manual wheelchair, and able to step into the small launches, I believe the wheelchair can be folded and carried on (like a stroller).

The green flag boat that runs directly between Fort Wilderness and Magic Kingdom is ECV/wheelchair accessible (Trail's End, Hoop de doo Review, etc). The deck of the boat is even with the dock and you drive right on. The crew does a great job. As lanejudy said, occasionally there might be a problem with water level and they can't get even with the dock, but I've ridden many times with ECV and have never had that problem come up.

The water level was too low when we reached the dock. The crew had all the passengers go to one side to raise the other side so I could wheel off. Team work!
