I just got back from a 10 day trip and wanted to warn my fellow readers about this company. I rented a power chair from scootaround that met my needs for our trip, I would have brought my own chair but I was concerned about damage while traveling.
The third night of our trip my chair quit responding and the lights would only flash when I powered it on and the chair would not move. I attempted to call scootaround 6 times before they finally picked up the phone and was told that they stop delivering after 4pm and someone would call me the next morning at 8am to check on me.
I searched for the manufacturer instructions and figured out what the blinking lights meant fixed the issue on my own. The chair had a safety lockout that enables when the joystick is pressed in one direction for too long. The issue I had with scootaround is they did not bother to call me until two days later to see how I was doing. They also did not provide any kind of troubleshooting assistance other than “are you sure you charged the chair”…
