Dont know if this has been covered yet but Avis and Scootaround are starting a program where you will have a scooter in the trunk of your car when you pick it up.

Rent a Mobility Scooter with your
Avis Rental Vehicle!

Scootaround is proud to partner with the Avis Cares® program and share in our common goal to provide a full range of products and services for drivers and passengers with mobility issues. As such, we are the exclusive provider of mobility scooter rentals at the following Avis locations:

• Las Vegas, NV • Orlando, FL

How Does the Rental Program Work?
It's easy! Just call our toll-free number and notify the Scootaround operator from which Avis location you are calling. After a few basic questions about your rental car and scooter needs, you'll be on your way to freedom of mobility with your Scootaround scooter or wheelchair.

If you prefer to complete a request online, please fill in our scooter request form and a Scootaround representative will contact you shortly.

What Kind of Scooter Will I Receive?
To make it very easy for you to be mobile, our rental program offers four-wheeled transportable units. These scooters are lightweight, extremely sturdy and offer the very latest in technology and safety features. They are well suited for travelers up to 250lbs, travel for miles on a charge and and can be disassembled in minutes for easy transport in any sized vehicle.

I went to the site and looked at the ECV picture on the site. It appears to be similar to the Pride Go-Go, except it has four wheels rather than three.

I have a 97 Ford Taurus 4-door sedan and it will easily hold the Go-Go scooter, but with the scooter in the trunk will not hold much more than a hard side carry-on bag.

It seems like a nice concept, but if you have more than two people, or even two people for a week, where are you going to put the luggage? And this applies to just about any size car.

Also, I called the number in the ad and got scoot around. Option 3 is for the Avis program, but it got me an individual's voice mail.

I agree, that is an interesting concept.
Although, for most people, I don't see a real big advantage in having a scooter already in the car, waiting for you.
And, like Cheshire Figment, I can see some definite disadvantages; luggage related and also having to put something together again when you get to your destination (without having seen it together before).
