I have a party of 5, my wife and I and three kids. Oddly, when I search for 5 I find no availability. 4 has availability, and oddly a party of 6 does as well.

Why would searching for 6 show I can make a reservation when a party of 5 doesn't?

The reservation system looks for a table, literally, for your party size. Make it for 6 and have a great time:thumbsup2

The site doesn't seem to like odd numbers. I often have the same problem when trying to book for one person, so I end up booking for 2 then dropping one person later.

That is odd, I'll give the 6 a try. My youngest is 5, so it's more like 4 1/2

As the PP said, it's a pretty well known glitch/quirk here on the Disboard. The system doesn't know that an odd numbered party can sit a table for the next even number up. So it doesn't know that your party of five can sit a table for six. In general, even numbers are easier to deal with when making ADRs. I often have to bump up my party by one (going from 3 to 4) to find an ADR. As long as you show up for the ADR, you won't be penalized for the "missing" person at the places with a credit card guarantee. Always go with the next party size up...because a person is a person, no matter how young, when considering table size and fire code.
