Are the movies pictured at the Sci-fi diner old or were they created by Imagineers

They're old usually B rated movie trailers. It's great fun to see.

I am in my mid 50's and have always been a science fiction fan. I can actually remember seeing some of these movies late Friday and Saturday nights as a kid in the 60's.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I seem to remember that you don't actually watch a "movie" but rather, a bunch of old movie clips and/or trailers put together and played over and over.

Now, it has been a couple of years since we ate there, so it could have changed.

It is a bunch of old B movie trailers. Meaning the stuff they had out to entice you to see the actual film. Kind of like "coming attractions". They also show typical drive in "commercials" that would be shown to try and get you into the snack shop during intermission. The loop is about 45 minutes which is about how long a meal has lasted us here.

True, but don't forget they also show several complete animated cartoons with a Sci-Fi theme. A Tom & Jerry aboard the rocket ship, "The Cat Who Hated People", The "secretary" who is captured by the Martian, and maybe more.
Plus the many and varied "newsreel" clips (remember the trained chimps and the "rocket ride", the "space-age magnetic cooker", the "television phone", and the "car that steers itself), and a "music video" or two featuring Mickey, Walt, and other Disney clips.

I guess I've spent a too much time in there.

(Oh, and don't forget to SCREAM when they stick the needle into the Atomic Man.)
