OK i have been here BC (before children) i like the old B movies. Does anyone think it is to scary for a 5 year old? I know it depends on the kid but just looking for others opinions or experiences?

Our timid, easily-terrified, daughter coped with it when she was five - she loved it and now classes it as one of her favourites!

For our first meal there we made a game out of turning away from the screen when there was anything she was scared of. She soon realised that there isn't anything 'really' scary!

My son was turning 3 on our last trip...he was totally fine. He did question why it was so dark, but I told him it was a movie theater and then he was fine.

He was seriously traumatized by Haunted Mansion last year, though. He told me when he turned 5 he would no longer be scared of that...he turned 5 Friday...we'll see how that one goes :lmao:

We took my son at 2 and 3, and he was fine. There is nothing really scary.

My 5 year old son loved Sci Fi. He thought the clips were goofy - not scary at all but he loves the Haunted Mansio . Go figure. He was more focused on the coolness of sitting in a car while eating. Enjoy! :)

The first time we went to WDW we booked Sci-Fi. Our son (then 2 going on 3) loved Sci-Fi and he was always a sensitive kid. Still is actually and he'll be 16 this year. Like other posters have said, it's not really scary at all. Just a little dark. If he is used to going to the movies, he should be okay with this. If things start to get a little rough with him point out the cool stuff inside the restaurant.. That usually helps take their minds off things until the food gets there.

My two kids are a bit timid about things they worry will be "scary" but when they were 5 and 6 they LOVED Sci Fi...so much so that we could hardly get them to tear their eyes away from the screen to actually eat.

They DEMANDED we go back there on the following trip (6 and 7) and want it yet again next time. I don't think the clips are worrying for kids unless the child in question is particularly fearful or sensitive.

Have fun!!

My kids (4 and 6 at the time) laughed the whole way through the meal. They loved the cheesy special effects and could tell right away that none of it was real.
