I know that the booths at Sci Fi are 3 tables for 2 each, but am wondering if they would ever let 3 sit together? I have 2 DDs - 12 and 14, plus my niece who is 10 will be joining us. The niece is very petite and my girls are both slim, so I think they would all fit together, but I didn't know if the CMs would even allow them to try. My girls love this place and really want to go back, but separating one of them out from the other 2 wouldn't work.

I know I have seen a thread about this, but I can't find it and now that I need to know, I can't remember what it said. Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated!

I don't know whether it's "allowed" or not, but it does seem like it would be a tight squeeze, if not because of their fannies on the seat, then because of space for the dishes on the table. It's pretty small.

We were just there with a family of 5, and one kid sat in the "driver's seat" alone. One of us went up and sat with him a couple of times during the meal. He didn't seem to mind it, as the video and surroundings kept him pretty interested.

Now, you didn't ask about the food or the service..........

I can see 3 if it's two adults & a toddler eating off one of their plates - but there really isn't room for 3 table services on that "table" - it's pretty darn small, and barely fits two plates (with silverware & glasses).

If these 3 girls are that unwilling to be separated, you've got more trouble coming than just sitting arrangements at Sci Fi!

I don't think there would really be enough "table" space in the seat for 3 people. Couldn't one girl sit behind the other two? You would all be in the same car? Maybe they could switch off sitting alone part way through the meal.

Maybe I should clarify one part of my question. It's not that they are "unwilling" to be separated. It's that both of my girls would want to sit with their cousin, who they now get to see less than one time per year despite practically growing up together for the first 8 years of my niece's life. The one that didn't get to sit with the other two would not have fun at that meal, and that's just not worth doing. There are too many other options.

Thanks for the answers - we'll do something else, probably 50's Prime Time. I just felt compelled to respond to that one part.

You could always request a table car. It has the same front and back of the cars but it has an actual table in the middle. It's not quite the same as sitting in the cars but it would solve the sitting next to each other situation.

I think they'll be fine in one seat. When we ate there, my adult cousin, DD6 and myself where all in the front row. DD6 is not tiny by any means...she's the size of the average 10 year old. We had plenty of room and didn't really feel cramped at all. We were in the front row of the car and I did put our drinks in the dash area of the car just so no one took them out with a stray elbow. But we were fine.

More than likely they will give you an entire car anyway, so if they find it too close for comfort you should be able to easily move one of them.

It was really tight, but DH, DGD (4),and I sat in one row. So three will fit. If they are fairly thin, you will probably be ok.

I'd say ask for the table car...then the 3 girls can sit on one side together. You still have a good view of the the sci-fi movie clips.

I saw 3 in a seat when we were there & it looked very cramped. The 3 plates actually had about 1 inch between each plate -- no room for the flatware, even.

This has always been my SIL's favorite restaurant when the kids were growing. They are a family of 5 and they always had a whole car for themselves. My two nieces would sit in the first row, my SIL and nephew in the second and my brother had the third (and back) row to himself. Come to think of it maybe that's why he liked going there!! LOL!!

Enjoy The Magic!!

I'm questioning the same thing too. We are a family of 5 and I'm really wanting us to sit together (not one person being alone). our kids are 9, 7 & 3. Now I'm wondering if they'll be able to fit in one row?

We wound up making an ADR for 50's PT instead. While I bet all 3 of their bodies would fit in the car, it sounds like it's not practical from a plates-and-glasses perspective for 3 to sit together.

Your family may be different - with them all being siblings, one may be happy to be by themselves or with you or your spouse. With me, both my DDs would want to sit by their cousin, so I just made other plans.

I wish it would have worked out at Sci-Fi, though, as my DDs love that place.

I was thinking about sharing a seat with my girls (5, 2). They are on the small size. My dh & ds will share the back seat. I hope this will work at fine at Sci-Fi
