They seated DD and I in the front seat and DH in the middle row of the car. At some point during our meal we "picked up two hitchhikers" (this is how our server referred to the two young ladies who occupied the back seat of our car ).

I realise that everyone is different but I was curious how posters here feel when they pick up "hitchhikers"? Do you look at it as an intrusion or just go with the flow? Seems to be a lot of anxiety over sharing tables at Biergarten and I am curious if it gets worse in the confines of the "car"?

The cars have three rows that each seat two people. Normally, a group of four would be in the first two rows and the "hitchhikers" would be a party of two seated in the back row. You can't even see the people unless you turn around. It's not like you have to try to make conversation with them. When our "hitchhikers" were seated, the hostess said something about bringing a couple of hitchhikers. We turned around and laughed and then went back to our lunch/movie watching. Otherwise, we hardly even noticed they were there.
With regards to "hitchhikers" - I didn't know they were there until our server took our photo and mentioned that our back seat passengers were in the pic, too.
I remember there being a large family seated near us - 8 to 10 people I think - they had a regular table with the car bonnet and fins at either end. This meant that they were seated sideways to the screen, not facing it directly.
I would imagine th party of 7 above would be seated in the first 2 rows of cars side-by-side. We had a party of 11 and we had two 3-row cars side-by-side. Since this restaurant really wasn't set up to hold conversation while eating, it's really not a big deal that you aren't all together.
