Can a family of 5 (the youngest will be 2 1/2) sit in the cars? Or is there a separate section of tables for larger families?

The cars hold 6, you'll have a whole car to yourselves.

There are indeed tables for larger families, but they're for 8-12 people.

what are the best things on their menu? Thinking of taking 10, 13, and 15 year old. Esp. now that I know we'll fit in one car!

I've heard that onion rings, burgers and milkshakes are the way to go here!

What about a family of 3? Would that create an odd man out? ( 2 adults/1 child)

Well, if the cars seat six, I guess you could all fit in one row? Might be cramped though. I'm interested to see how this works in reality!

We had 6 in our party and had a car to ourselves. The cars have 3 rows, so we sat 2 to a row. 2 adults and a child would be tight in a single row in the type of car we were in.

Everything our party ordered was good - ribs, salad, hamburgers.

One thing we particularly liked about the Sci Fi was we were able to order shakes as our beverage on the dining plan.

There really is enough seating space for 2 adults and a toddler in one row. IMO, there's not enough counter space for three, though. Food gets crowded quickly on the smallish counters.

Last time we went DH, DS, & I, DS & DH sat in the seat in front & I sat alone behind. Not great, but it worked fine. As pp said, not much table space for 3 and could be tight in the seat depending on size of child. I still recommend it, though. DS loves the place. You are close enough to talk, although you are not sitting face to face. They have some areas in the back that you could sit at altogether, but they are not as fun as they are not cars.

Have fun!

You will have an odd person sitting alone. It is a 3 row / 2 per row seating config. As long as one person doesn't mind sitting in a row by themselves then you are good to go.

Why do you assume the pocahontas2004 isn't taking the kids by herself?

Because it would be obvious and easy to seat a party of 4. Parties of 5 are always a tricky situation. It wasn't meant as a slight, but the questions about party size *usually* revolve around parties of odd numbers and parties larger than 4.

Also based on the original subject of large parties one can use deductive reasoning that she (once again making an assumption that Pocahontas is a female poster) is a party larger than 4.

we're a party of 5 which is why the original post caught my eye. It can be tricky to be more than 4 in getting seating...

Anyway, if I cannot get a PS reservation, what will it be like to try lunchtime on a weekday and the wait?

I can't comment about the wait time but I LOVED Sci-Fi. I would go back in a heartbeat. My husband, on the otherhand, was non-plused. Thought it was too much money for too little food (we were on the dining plan). Enjoy it for me, too. I may not get the chance to go back!!:rotfl:
