How would a family of 5 be seated? Is there only 2 people per "row" would I have my back to DH and the kids? I would like to take the kids there but not sure how nice it would be if I am eatting with my back to them.

We just ate at Sci Fi this past week for our first time. They have 3 seating options. If you choose the car, the person in the front will have their backs to the people behind them. It has 3 rows, 2 people each.

They also have a table with the two ends looking like the front and back of a car. People sit on the sides facing each other.

I cannot remember the 3rd option. We did the car. It wasn't too bad, but I prefer to look at my husband. My almost 2 year old son really liked sitting in a car and watching TV as he ate.

Is it possible to sit 3 people? Our DD3 always sits with us in booths...or is it smaller than a regular size booth?

I think three people would be tight. Three children might work or 1 adult with 2 small children. I sat with my 8 year old DD and my husband sat with my 2 year old son. Actually, I think it would have been hard to sit my daughter and son with one of us. You can probably ask when you call for your ADR's.

We have eaten at Sci Fi as a party of five 4 times. Twice we were seated at the tables that have chairs. They look like cars on the ends, but the middle is a regular table with chairs. Twice we have been seated in the 3 row cars. One person sits by themself and there are 2 in each of the other rows. I like the cars, but I thought the regular table was more comfortable.

When we went DH, me, and DS 5 sat in one row of a car. The row was a little snug, but not bad. We had DD 2 in a high chair beside us. Oh and DH and me are definitely not small adults.

I think i'll try to put us all together. dd3 is tall but very thin (not even 30 lbs & she's almost 4) & I'm on the small side (okay, very small, I'm about 90 lbs.) So I think we'll be alright. Thanks for the info.

I was thinking about eating here too and didnt know if they were able to provide a high chair for my 16 mo. old , i'm glad they do!

We are a party of 5 and were given a car with 3 rows. We sat my ds 10 and 6 in one row and me, dh and a booster seat in between for my little one and it was fine. So 3 should fit just fine.

We are also a party of 5 and when we ate here in '07, our 3 children fit comfortably in one row (front of the car), ages at the time were 4, 6 and 9 and DH and I sat directly behind them. They loved that and we didn't feel like we weren't together - the kids would just turn around when they wanted to talk to us and not watch the clips. Was a lot of fun! :earsboy:

When we went as a party of 5, we did the table cars.
Meaning, instead of the booths, we sat at the ones that were regular tables disguised as cars in the front and back ;)

We decided that would be fair so no one would sit on their own.

For those who sat at the table cars, did you request that when you went in? We've eaten there twice (party of 3) and both times we were in a regular car do DH and DD sat in the front and I sat behind them. We are going this May and taking the grandparents so we'll be a party of 5. I decided to do 50's Prime Time because I thought the Sci-Fi in the regular car wouldn't be a good set up for us. Both times we went, I don't recall getting any choice of type of table.

When we went last year, they asked us at check in which type of table we would prefer and they had a images at the check in desk of the the different tables and we chose the type we wanted to sit in.

I am Pooh size and only 5'1". Is there much room between you and the table in the cars? Are they booths or chairs?

I actually prefer the car tables to the booths. You can actually have a conversation and don't feel as cramped. But, I realize they aren't as "cool" and kids might be disappointed by them.

This was the reason we went with the car table vs. the booth. My DH is a big boy, there was no way he'd fit in the booth. I am pretty average sized and I don't think I would have been comfortable in the booth either.

Here is a picture of the car tables:

I am pooh sized also and I was worried but I fit fine although there was not a lot of extra room between me and the table. There is about 17-18 inches between the table and the back of the booth

Thanks for the info and pictured. I think we will go with the table type.
