Sci Fi question

How many people can fit in the seat for Sci Fi? Particularly if they are on the hefty side?

I would say the cars are made for 6 adults, 2 in each "row" or 3 little kids in each row. Depending on how hefty you're talking about, the bigger issue may be comfort in the depth of the seat (i.e. distance between seat and table" because you can't move either and it could be snug. If you are concerned about comfort and/or fitting in the bench style seats, you could always request one of the cars that has actual chairs.

2. as mentioned, it won't be the side by side that is the issue as much as distance from table to back of seat. It depends where you carry your weight, I was pretty hefty when I went last but tend to carry it low. If you carry it in the middle it might be an issue. they have car tables and chairs though if it's an issue, I've sat in that before too. You can see them all the way to the bottom left of that photo posted above.

Yes, these benches are smaller than a normal booth bench.

We go often and I can't fathom 3 able to get in let alone be comfortable.

We are often 3 as well, and it works out fine, just have the single person sit in front of others. Much easier for them to turn and talk than for two in a seat to turn.

You could request one of the bookend cars ... if they would even allow it, you would probably share ...

I'm on the hefty side as well. When I went to the Sci-Fi last time, even though I fit in the "car", I couldn't really bend in the seat to eat. The closest thing I can think of to the cars at Sci-Fi are the booths at Waffle House. If you are ok eating in one of those, you should be ok at Sci-Fi.
