I have a 2 year old most of the time she is really good in resturants. I made my reservations all for early times of day. Trying to keep her out of the resturants when she is likey to fall alsleep.

We have sci fi at 1130 am but I am able to get a Hollywood and vine. I'm thinking if I have to take her outside AKA meltdown it would be eaiser to do this in Hollywood and vine. Plus there are characters and that would probably keep her entertained also. which would you choose.

I also have to ask this we have a CM reservation I thought it was lunch but it is a late breakfest at 1110 am. If I book Hollywood and vine at the same time is it lunch or breakfest?

I have not been to Hollywood and Vine so can't really tell you which to pick BUT we recently went to Sci Fi with a 3 year old who loves to watch movies and tv shows when given the chance. She was SO well behaved at Sci Fi because she was literally loving watching a little tv. There was one clip in particular about a cat or something that she talked about for days afterwards. It was a very pleasant meal!

We've done both, and we're going back to Sci-fi in a few weeks, but unless it's to get the Fantasmic! package, we'd never do Hollywood & Vine again. We're really not that picky of eaters, but honestly there was basically nothing that we'd eat. My ds ate 1 chicken nugget, but that was it- they were very cold and the rest of us really ate next to nothing. We left and got a quick bite at one of the stands right away. If you think your kiddo would be really interested in the characters at lunch, then I'd maybe go, but personally I wouldn't plan on eating anything there. Also, the service, which only requires getting the drinks and check was sooo slow. It took forever for us to just get our check, so since it's a buffet, I'd ask for it as soon as you sit down. Sci-fi kept my kiddos entertained too, they liked eating in a car and it wasn't quiet at all, so any noise they made, got pretty drained out.

ETA: At each restaurant we had kids under 7 and under 3.

My daughter, who is also in the I'm not going to sit still for longer than 1/2 hour stage, loved Sc-i-Fi. We requested a booster seat instead of a high chair, so, that she would "sit" in the car with us. She enjoyed been in the front seat of the car while munching on mommy's fries and watching the movies.

:)

We have done both when my DD was at that same age. Honestly she sat better at the Sci-Fi Drive-In (even though their were characters at Hollywood & Vine). At that age some of the characters scared her (esp.Pluto). We got lucky because she loved JoJo's Circus. Anyhow, she sat there and watched the movies at the Sci-Fi (even the parts I thought she would be scared of).

Good luck! Hope you have a wondeful trip! :wizard:

Last year our 2-year-old did much better at Sci Fi than at the H&V breakfast.

We'd done an 8 am breakfast to get it in before park time. Might've been too early for him. We had a hard time with him at character meals in general because he could see them across the restaurant and wanted to go to them. We also had free dining and so all our kids were just plain sick of restaurants and too full anyway. Our next trip is going to be QS with just one TS OOP because of this.

Sci Fi was one of our best meals as far as the kids went. They liked the food and they loved the drive-in theater ambience. Eating in a car! Watching goofy clips on the giant screen! Even our 2-year-old was into it. :)

we took our DS to H & V in January, he was about 2.5, and he loved seeing teh little einsteins characters! We went for lunch, and hadn't eaten there in several years, our last visit was a mediocre at best dinner. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed the food! It was much better than I was expecting. Our only disappointment: No Rocket! and of course DS had no idea who Jo Jo & Goliath were....but man was he psyched to see Leo!

I picked the Sci - fi over H&V because I wanted her to be calm. With all that stimulation/interaction in the morning---giving her more was not gonna do it.

Sci- fi is dark, its quiet and its very cool. (I hope it serves my purpose.)

I think it totally depends upon your child. If your child is familiar at all with the characters AND if he wouldn't be afraid of them, then - as much as I love Sci-Fi - I'd opt for H&V. BUT, if your child doesn't recognize the character or is afraid of them, I'd absolutely opt for Sci-Fi. I LOVE Sci-Fi and I think your son might find it marginally entertaining. Plus, it's a fairly quick in-and-out...though the food choices might be better at H&V for your little guy.

We have always done 50's prime time and our dd loved it (yearly age 3 thru 6 and our 1 year old was fine there too) Hollywood and vine just gives me a headache looking at it (it shares a bathroom with 50's so we've been over there). After a busy park morning, we need some downtime and a room full of characters, music and screaming kids is not going to work! This year we are trying sci fi with our 2 and now 7 year old DDs.

Thanks again! We stuck with sci-fi if I cancle that one I can't get it back. Seems to be popular. But I haven't ate there in a long time. But there are alot of opening for H&V. My dd loves the character so that isn't a problem.
