Trying to decide where to eat for dinner on arrival day.

We will get to Pop around 1ish in the afternoon, where we will relax/get settled/maybe swim.

We're planning on heading to DHS later on JUST to see the Osborne lights. We will spend a full day there later on in our trip.

Trying to decide if we should just eat inside the park at Sci Fi or if we should take a cab to Cape May, then take the boat into DHS.

We haven't eaten at either place, I thought Sci Fi would be a blast for the kids, but my parents will be with us that day, so I want something that would appeal to everyone.

Opinions, please! TIA

I haven't eaten at Cape May, but have eaten at Sci-Fi and it is a neat place to eat. They have awesome shakes and burgers and I personally like the ribs. After traveling I would stay in the park. Plus your parents will enjoy the old sci-fi movie previews. My DH and I get a kick out of them.

We enjoyed Cape May last year, and are returning in 2 weeks!! My boys loved the boat ride to and from DHS to Beach CLub. The food was very good, something for everyone!

We just got back and as always loved the Cape May Cafe. They've redone it some and now have snow crab legs on it as well.

We tried the Sci Fi and have to say it was the WORST food we have ever eaten. It made McDonalds look good.

Another vote for Cape May. Since it's your first day, you'll enjoy the time together, talking about your trip. In the cars at Sci-Fi, you all face the screen and there's no real interaction between the members of your party.

Plus food MUCH better and more varied for your family members.

Cape May's food is better.

Sci Fi cars hold 6 people, maybe you could squeeze a few more in but definitely only 2 adults per row. Not sure about your party size but if you need 2 cars to be seated, you have no guarantee of being seated together.

The food at Cape May is much better:rotfl:, but it sounds like Sci Fi might be easier for you! Sci Fi is lots of fun!

Another vote for Cape May Cafe. They have DELICIOUS food, and something for everyone. and save room for their kickass oreo bon bons. OMG so good.

Never ate at Sci-Fi. We have always loved the Cape May. That being said, we were very unhappy with the Cape May last trip. The service was terrible and the food disappointing. We won't be going back there.:sad2:

Sci-Fi is fun, but I wouldn't recommend it for a family or large group. The restaurant is loud dark, rendering civil conversation nearly impossible. Sitting in the cars is a novel experience, but the arrangement requires diners to sit in rows. I look forward to sit-down meals to relax and chat, and Sci-Fi doesn't really allow for that.

Cape May is a nice option. The boat ride from the park is pleasant, and the restaurant is pretty good. I think you'll be happy there.

Sci-fi is fun, but you need to think about the little kids in your party. The show 50's monster movies on a giant movie screen. Our son didnt like it when he was a toddler.

We always enjoy Cape May. Sci Fi is ok, but Cape May has better food, and I would rather sit in the light and enjoy seeing my kids while we eat LOL.
