I have never been to either and want to try one on our upcoming trip. Which would you choose and what should we order? (I'm trying for dinner - not lunch)

TIA :goodvibes

Hey, pal, I didn't get a chance to answer your question yesterday.

For dinner, I'd do 50's. I love the atmosphere at the Sci-Fi but we think the menu is better at lunch. Dinner was pretty craptacular. For Sci-Fi, go for lunch and stick with burger/fries type combos. Their cheesecake with caramel corn and M&M's is fabulous, though.

50's has better food, IMO. I'm very fond of the fried chicken and your pretend husband likes the meat loaf. Dad's Brownie Sundae is great, too. Can you tell I only really eat desserts on vacation? I REALLY look forward to them. :lmao:

This is always a tough choice for us on every vacation. The food is better at 50's but the atmosphere is so much better at Sci Fi. I'm faced with the decision again this year. Our family likes Sci Fi better. However, I would never do Sci Fi for dinner. The food is really not that great but the burgers and shakes for lunch are fine.

50's food is pretty good. The servings are huge. The smores dessert is one of my favorites at WDW. If we are doing dinner at DHS, we book this over Sci Fi.

we just did the 50's for the first time this past Dec. We did it for lunch. ( we were leaving that afternoon). Our food was really really good. we were on the deluxe dining plan, so it included an appetizer too.
The malts/ shakes were really good too.

we liked the atomsphere and how the waitress are into character!

We did 50's on our last trip and really enjoyed it.

We had SciFi on our list of possibilities for the next trip, but have just recently taken it off the list because the menu didn't thrill us (and we had to take some things off.)

I've only been to Sci fi and I loved it! The atmosphere is unbeatable and sitting in the cars was so cool. Food was just ok, not bad though and service was outstanding.

50's Prime Time for sure. Sci-fi is "neat" but the food is "meh".

at 50's, Pot Roast is awesome. DW loves their meatloaf. kids love their friend chicken.

50's defiantly has better food, and the server interaction is great. I would defiantly vote for 50's!

Another vote for 50's PT. I've had the fried chicken and the pot roast. Both good. Not great, but very good. Last time we went my daughter got in "trouble" for something (elbows on the table or the like) and our server made her sweep up for closing. Personally I think she just wanted a break. :)

Sci-Fi has its place. And that place is lunch. For a burger.

You guys convinced me to try 50s this time. I am going to try to get dinner. If I can't then I'll get Sci-Fi lunch. Thank you for all your comments.

I'm especially going if my pretend husband likes it! :lovestruc

When we were there last, I was 36, my brother is 26. I tried to pretend "tattle" on something he was doing..... so the server "Aunt" something, made ME stand against the wall in timeout for tattling....

It was pretty hilarious really...

for 50's you have to be a good sport, cuz they will make sure they make the night entertaining. It's a little more expensive, but the food is pretty good. Sci Fi is a cooler atmosphere, and less expensive, but the food is not quite as good. The pot roast and tuna steak casserole at 50's are amazing, as are the Reuben sandwiches and steak salads at Sci Fi.

We had such a great time at 50's Prime Time. It was six years ago and my kids still talk about their grandpa getting in trouble for not finishing his green beans. The server caught him putting them on my son's plate. Guess what my dad got for dessert, another bowl of green beans. The s'mores dessert is excellent also. Have fun.

I would go with 50's Prime Time Cafe. Now if you are going there for lunch then I would order the Fish Sandwich, however if you are going for dinner I would order the Meatloaf.

Thanks everyone for your replies! I think I am going to try to get an ADR for 50s. Should be an experience! :)

Been to both many of times. Love Prime Time we always go for the Pot Roast and the great dinning fun experience. A must do every trip :thumbsup2

Si-Fi - IF I were to go back it would only be for lunch. God knows there dinner menu went down hill :sad2: so bad. Until they get a new an better menu we won't go back.:sad2:
