If you could only pick one which would it be Sci-Fi or 50's Primetime. Though I have tons of time to decide where we will eat I was just wondering others opinion. And why.

TIA

I haven't eaten at Sci-Fi, but I love 50's PTC. The roast beef was awesome and the milkshakes were great. Our waitress was great too. She gave us the "now set the table kids and get your elbows off the table" stuff that they do, but she didn't overdo it or embarrass anyone. So 50's PTC got my vote.

I have eaten at both places. We thought the food and theme was so much better at Sci-Fi (steak). Prime time was a busy/rush feel to it and the food (meatloaf) wasn't great.

Sci Fi Dine In wins my vote. Not for food, the food's not great at either place but strickly for atmosphere. 50's PT is a been there done that knida place but Sci Fi is just cool.

We had a terrible meal and long ADR wait at Sci-Fi. Ours was for dinner, but lunch does seem to get better reviews.

Our 50's PTC experience was great. We were very tired and Aunt Donna backed off, but after starting our meal our spirits imporved and "she" came back. the food was very good with large portions. We did have to wait for ADRs but it was because we were early...we were seated right on time!

We've done both...but it has been about nine years since we've been at either. We are going to do Sci-Fi on our next trip because it has been getting some great reviews lately and the onion rings are calling my name. :rotfl2:

My vote is for 50's for the food. Sci Fi for the atmosphere. So for my upcoming trip I decided to have lunch at 50's around 1130am and have a snack at Sci Fi around 3pm. Best of both worlds I guess for me!

I have eaten at prime time 3 times and sci fi twice. I definitley suggest Prime Time. why?

we went with our boys to each. they got a kick out of the teasing at prime time (although I did have to go "encourage' the aunt to come to our table and "bug" the boys) they were ages 9 and 12.

at ages 11 and 15, they liked sitting in the cars at sci fi, but, to be honest, kids don't remember Drive-ins (like we do) and don't recall all those old sci fi movies, so the "point" was kinda lost on them.

since then (the boys are now grown and gone.. why do we say that? gone? like I don't know where they are?:rotfl:although sometimes.. I wonder:lmao:) hubby and I have eaten 2 times at prime time and tried once again at sci fi. the FOOD is hands down better at prime time. the chicken is great!!!also, the pot roast! the onion rings are to die for! I love the desserts!
the ribs at sci fi were... eh. the burgers... eh. check out the restaurant reviews and I think you'll see the food at sci fi is not stellar.
when we went with older boys (who were not at all into "characters" )we wanted meals with a little something different, and they did have fun at both. I would suggest both, but MGM is really only a one-day park..
my vote.. Prime time

I love 50's Prime time over Sci Fi - last time I ate at Sci Fi I was not impressed and have always had good service at 50's Prime Time along with good food!

50s Prime Time has better overall food. I think the atmosphere preference depends on the customer. I like the kitschy feel of Sci Fi and stick to the burgers. I selected 50s in the poll because i think it has broader appeal for both food and atmosphere.

I agree with man others. The food is OK in both places, but while I love the atmosphere of the Sci-Fi, I find the Prime Time utterly annoying

If you can only do one, I reccomend Sci-Fi. They have, imho, a better theme and the food is just as good as Primetime. However, if you're lucky enough to get a table with a TV at Primetime, then it's more fun to watch the old stuff, than to listen to the annoying banter about the kids having to set the table and such. One other thing, Primetime is SUPER rushed, Sci-Fi not so much.

Sci-fi, 100% all the way. The food's really good and I like the atmosphere. Where else can you sit in little cars and watch really bad sci-fi movies? I ate at the 50s PTC once. The dessert is good but that's all I liked. I don't like the "teasing" at the PTC at all.

I didn't like the SciFi just because it's a tad dark in there for my preferences when eating.

I love the 50 Prime Time, though. I love watching the old clips of TV shows and getting ribbed by the aunt or uncle serving. And the milkshakes? Best on property. Hands down. I love the food there, too. It is a little busy and it is one of the more popular restaurants, but I think it just adds to the atmosphere that you're all just one big happy family home for dinner from Mom.

we had s great time when we ate a 50's prome time because our waiter was just awesome. the other servers and workers got the whole table involved in the action from asking my sons what color the soap was in the bathroom to making them set the table. they even made me stand in the corner because my son didnt eat all of his vegetables. he didnt eat the pickle end where the stem meets the pickle itself so off to the corner i went. we all had such a great time that the only way i would go back is with a new group of newbies whom have never been there before. i feel it would be hard to re-create that time with the same people. food what food we were enjoying ourselves so much we didnt remember about the food.

SciFi i eat at every trip. i love the atmosphere and the food is good. i just love seeing the old sci fi movie clips. i remember when they were new movies!!!

loved both places but sci fi gets my vote

The food at 50's Prime-Time is soooooooooooooo much better than at Sci-fi! Needless to say, 50's gets my vote!

I am going to both on my upcoming trip. They are 2 of my favorites in all of WDW! That being said, if I could only do 1 it would be 50's - the food is great and it can be so much fun!!

Definitely Sci-Fi for the atmosphere - the food isn't great at either. We went to Prime Time a few years ago because we'd heard about the fun interaction with the servers but they were no fun at all. Maybe they thought we wouldn't like it because we're English or something?

When we're on the dining plan, we usually pay out of pocket for Sci Fi because the things that cost the most - shakes and those glo cube drinks etc, aren't included in the plan.
