Which would you choose for a lunch at MGM? It will be me, DH, DDs 5 and 9. Also, any info on menus for either. Thanks a ton.

I liked both places. I think the atmosphere at Sci-Fi would appeal to your children more than the Prime Time.

You can check out the menus at www.wdwig.com

and after many years of not attempting the Sci-Fi, we decided
to return for lunch. It was great - the lunch menu was very
good. Also went to Prime Time, which we seem to visit every
year - and I believe I enjoyed Sci Fi just a little bit better. I believe the fun at Prime Time is getting 'old' for us, plus the
servers were not really into it. We had a great server at Sci-Fi.

I've always liked Sci Fi a little bit more, though I enjoy both restaurants.

I love the atmosphere at Sci Fi, but the food is more appealing to me at Prime Time, though PT's shtick can get old with me sometimes too.

Seems like it's the eternal question... :D

Been to both, I'm more of a Sci-Fi fan.

I have 3 girls and we've been to both several times. They prefer Prime Time because it's "interactive". They even start talking back to the waiter to goad them on purpose.

They liked Sci Fi, but it was a thrill which was over in the first 10 minutes of lunch while the fun at Prime Time went on and on.

Just one opinion.

We're a "Sci Fi Lunch" and "Prime Time Dinner" family. We've never eaten lunch at Prime Time, and never eaten dinner at Sci Fi.

Gotta' vote for Sci-Fi....especially with little ones. The atmosphere of Prime Time is a 1950's diner....with black-and-white tv's playing old television show repeats. As a 45-year-old, I recognized many of the shows.....but my kids didn't recognize any...and really didn't "get" the whole idea behind the place.
I also think the food at Prime Time is more dinner-oriented...Sci-Fi is more of a burger-fries-shake lunch place. (Menu at Sci-Fi is more extensive than that...and some may recommend it for dinner....but we found it more suited for a lunch.)
Have fun no matter what you choose!!!

Thanks for all the replys but now Im more confused than ever. Ive always heard that Sci Fi got ad reviews. But we will probably try it for the drive in atmosphere.

Prime Time.

My kids thought that they would be watching an actual movie when we visited Sci-Fi. It turned out that they show clips of bad horror movies. The food at the Sci-Fi was bad, no one enjoyed it. This was 5 years ago and we have not returned since. I have heard that this is a great place to visit for a dessert. We might do this next trip.

The PT on the other hand is a must do on every trip. My kids (15,13,10,10) have been enjoying the atmosphere and food at this restaurant for several years. They do watch old tv shows at home like I Love Lucy and Leave it to Beaver. And, they actually enjoy the atmosphere and look forward to interacting with the waitstaff. They also like when we (DH and I) point out different things that we had in our house when we were growing up - like the huge wooden spoon and fork that hangs on the wall LOL.

We always eat lunch at Sci Fi - every trip. Have done so for more than 6 years now, no matter how many times a year we visit. DS(13) still loves it and I do too. The one and only time I ever got sick on Disney food was eating the one and only time at Prime Time - may just be a coincidence but we did not care for it at all.
