I thought that my DS would get a kick out of eating in a car at the Sci Fi, but now I'm thinking about the movie clips. Are they scary? Anyone else taken young kids there?

Thanks.

It's not scary, from what I remember pretty much "B" type movies. Attack of the 50ft woman or something like that, they're just clips. My daughter was 2 1/2 when she was in there and liked it.

My son does not like ANYTHING scary and has gone to the Sci Fi at least once a trip. I'll be interested to hear what others think, but he actually had nightmares from an episode of Full House for several months--don't ask :)----and we find the clips silly/funny.

Actually, I just took DD3 there last week. Some of the clips were mildly scary. Lots of aliens & screaming. Others like Tom & Jerry were funny. I think it depends on the kid. DD3 didn't get really bothered by it, but she doesn't get scared by things. Her favorite ride was Snow White's scary adventure. It would be fine, I think, just know there are some that are scary.

Our son definitely got a little scared at Sci Fi when he was 3.5. He found the monster previews very frightening, but he loved the animated shorts. DH calmed him down by holding him close and sharing a milkshake with him.

We skipped it for our last trip, and we're skipping it again on our next trip. We may try him again there once he's 5.

My kids loved it the year they were 2 & 3. Nothing in the clips scared them. It's also one of the "must-do" restaurants on their list.:thumbsup2

All of my kids have been there, except for my 1 year old, but he's going in November. Nothin on the screen is scary, all black and white movies, but if darkness bother's him that might be the only thing that could be scary. It's rather dark in there, because it's suppose to be a drive in theater of course.

Thanks so much for the responses. This will be his 4th trip and he has never been scared of anything at Disney World before. He was fine at Fantasmic, Snow White, Haunted Mansion and others. However, just recently he has started talking about things scaring him, so that is why I wanted to know. I just got us an earlier reservation at the 50's Prime Time Cafe, so I might cancel the Sci Fi one. From what you have all said, I think he would be fine, but I think my DM might get a kick out of the 50's place. Choices choices. :confused3

All kids are different, but the first time we went to Sci Fi, both of my kids, who were 3 and 4 at the time, were a bit apprehensive. It's a double whammy - first they walk into a really dark place, and then the movies a bit scary to them. I kept saying they weren't real, and to an adult, you can see how fake they are, but they didn't like it so much. So we splurged on milkshakes and they didn't watch the screen, and they were fine. Now that they're older, they ask to go back!
