Sci Fi - Not in the same car? & MGM question

We have a group of 5 and want to eat at Sci Fi for lunch next Sunday. They only could accomodate us in seperate cars. However, they told us that if we made the ADR for when the restaurant opened at 11 that we might have a chance to all get in the same car. Does anyone have experience with that sort of thing?

Also, we only have one day at MGM. Is it bad planning to take time out in the morning for a TS meal?

yes - if you get an ADR for when the sci-fi opens, there should be no problem getting all 5 of you in one car (that seats 6, 2 per row) - we've seen it with other people (there's only DH and me when we're there) since we always get the first seating for lunch or dinner wherever we dine
