Sci-Fi Makeover?

Listening to Kevin's restaurant review of the Star Wars breakfast got me thinking - does anyone else think they're trying to gauge the popularity of a fully Star Wars themed restaurant, with the rumored Star Wars expansion? That being said, does anyone else think Sci-Fi has a good chance of going away with the rumored overhauling of DHS? I could see them turning this space into a Star Wars Cantina, possibly serving all 3 meals, and even keeping the same concept as Sci-Fi - everyone could sit in pod racers and at tables/booths similar to the ones in the Cantina in the movie... They could have the Cantina characters going around and even show Star Wars themed commercials and things on the giant screen, like they do with the current Star Wars breakfast...

Thoughts? Would you eat there?

Hmmm. It didn't occur to me that they might be considering a change to SciFi. No doubt they did gather a lot of "intelligence" about the demand for a SW themed restaurant but I wouldn't think that a change in SciFi is on tap. The restaurant gets good reviews and is much in demand as it stands now, why change it? Instead, why not make a new restaurant at DHS (which desperately needs one) starting from scratch as part of a SW expansion?

As much as I love Star Wars, I love the SciFI's campy drive in charm. I would love a separate Mos Eisley Catina themed restaurant where I can get my Star Wars fix. Leave the Sci-Fi as is. I love the films of Walt that the restaurant shows.

I think it just seems to be the way they're going, to me at least. And it appears that DHS is getting a complete makeover - to be honest I'd be surprised if any of it was left "classic Hollywood"... And MGM is my favorite park so I really hate that so many people want so much to go...

I have been wondering the same thing and it is a possibility that the Sci-Fi is converted to a Star Wars theme in the future. But, as some one who loves the Sci-Fi as is, I am kind of hoping that doesn't happen. I'm definitely looking forward to an expanded Star Wars area, however, my nostalgic side does not want to see the Sci-Fi change.

You and I are in the exact same boat!

:badpc::mad::yoda::badpc::furious: dear god, NO

Sci-Fi was not "made over". It was the same Sci-fi this weekend except that it had a different loop playing on the screen and Star Wars characters walking around.

No one said that it has already been made over... The thread is about the idea of a possibility of it undergoing a makeover somewhere in the future if any rumored expansion comes to fruition.
