Sci-Fi late lunch; Ala-Cart ok?

Know that the waitstaff depends on tips; hate to stiff anyone.

Upcoming trip will be on the DP; afternoon we arrive is SW weekend @ MGM. While we have a late dinner @ Capt Jacks that evening, youngest DS has been clamoring to return to SciFi (lol -kids).

How tacky would it be to use DP only for DS to order a steak while DH & I just grab an appetizer/dessert or sandwich OOP?

Even worse, he'd rather grab a turkey leg before we depart MGM and just get a drink @ Capt. Jacks (or if anything appeals to him on the menu - pickey eater/doesn't like seafood ) while DH & I enjoy our lobster.

Is this just too tacky? Of course, we'll tip for our OOP food selections -we usually add to the DP gratuity anyway for good service.

Personally, I don't see a darn thing "tacky" about it. I can't eat huge portions so I often just get an appetizer as my meal. And we've had a number of occasions at non Disney restaurants where we've gone for trivia in the restaurant (not the bar area) and one of our members had a big late lunch that day and doesn't eat anything. Of course, we do tip and we do tip well.

I'd be more concerned with your son eating one of those turkey legs. Ick!!

as for the turkey legs, guess they're an acquired taste (a bite will do me )
