Sci-Fi : Is it really that bad?

It's the experience that you will treasure. There's just no where like it anywhere else.

As long as you stay away from the "pricey" menu selections, you'll be ok. I know that the more I spend, the more I expect !! I'd save ordering the salmon at another finer restaurant in the parks. Burgers and shake fare is fine and fits in with the drive in theme anyway !!

It wasn't just awful, but we're in no hurry to go back. We ate dinner there last July and would rate the items we got like this: steak - B, ribs, - B, salmon - C, kids' hotdog - B and cheeseburger and fries - D-. The burger was so hard and tough that my son only ate about half of it -- I'm talking about a 14-year-old boy who normally eats enough for at least two people. I tried to get him to eat it, but he said it was just too gross. A possible explanation is that you have to go "off menu" to get a burger at dinner. I honestly think this one may have been leftover from lunch and they microwaved it for him.

It is very pricey for the food quality and nothing WOW about the food but you are basically paying for the atmoshpere.

You know I would think that after all the bad reviews this place gets it would make a better tasting fare but I figure that the place is always crowded with lots of new tourists who want to experience it pay those huge prices that they figure "why change" but we at the dis know better.

I would love to go back there for the atmoshpere which cannot be beat but they need to offer more fun tasty food for that environment and THEY definitly need to change that same old movie!   :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

gm: I TOTALLY agree with you. After 10 years of the same movie clips, I don't think we are even going to put it on our agenda next trip.
The food is one thing, but come on, for those of us who are repeaters--get some different clips !!!

If your kids want to go there definately try it. We ate there last October and we all enjoyed it. My sister and I both had a salad (which was GREAT), then we split the turkey sandwich, which was also very good. But the best thing about this restaurant is the atmosphere. It is quiet, dark, will cool you off from the Florida sun. It was probably the most relaxing meal we had on this trip. Also sitting in the "Cars" was nice the two kids were in front and we were right behind them, we didn't have to see what they were eating (or not eating) or how they were playing with their food. So my vote is to try it!!

When we ate at Sci Fi, we ate dinner and ordered burgers and they were good. They weren't hard.

We go nearly every trip. The kids love the cheesy movies and the shakes. The burgers are big and good. I personally love the crinkle-cut fries that have always come out fresh and hot. They remind me of eating out when I was a kid before fast food totally took over.

We always eat there and we always like it. It's about the same as all the other way overpriced average food they serve in the Parks. My kids love this place, we have to eat there every trip. I would suggest lunch, it's a nice place to escape the midday sun.
