We are a family of 8 and are hoping to book an ADR for Sci Fi for our November trip. What are the odds that we will get a car? Should I call and put in a request? I wouldn't mind if we were split into two groups of 4, if needed. I've never been but from what I'm reading, it looks like cars are for up to groups of 6. Is that right?

They have a few tables for parties of 8 that aren't the normal car seats, but which are sort of in a car.
The standard car only seats 6, so if you want the forward facing bench seating, you'll have to be split up.

Usually, if you have a reservation you will be seated in a car. When you check in let the castmembers at the podium know that you would like a regular car and are willing to be split up. If two in your group are small you might be able to fit three in a row and all fit in a single car.

Exactly this. They give cars to people with ADRs. And definitely let them know you are willing to be split up into two cars (4 & 4).
