I kind of really want to try this restaurant, based soley on the atmosphere. I like the whole fake nighttime ceiling thing, but the menu just doesn't see appealing to me, or worth a TS credit (the food seems more like QS type food) anyone have anything positive to say about this place? I'm on the fence. :confused3

I love the Sci-Fi. The food has always been good to me. We always go for lunch so I don't know about the dinner menu. It is on par with a Ruby Tuesday/TGIF type place. I thought it was worth the credit.

My wife, our children, and I have dined here every trip since 2003, and will be going again on our next trip. I prefer the lunch over the dinner because their burger is only listed on the lunch menu. My wife, who has a food allergy, and both of our children (now teenagers) really like it. I have read some negative reviews about the food, but we've never experienced any problems. Even though the old "B" sci-fi & horror movie previews from the 1950's haven't changed over the years, we still enjoy watching them. As far as whether or not it's woth a Table Service credit on the dining plan, I can't answer that since I've never used the dining plan.

Thanks! Sounds like we'll be better off trying it for lunch, I'll still get the atmosphere, and DH loves his burgers! Thanks:thumbsup2

We ate at Sci Fi for lunch last year and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is great: watching the old movie clips while eating at the car-table. I had a burger and thought it was very good and our server was fantastic. We had the dining plan, but elected to pay OOP for Sci Fi because it was not a good use of a TS credit compared to some of the other places we were eating at. We definitely thought it was worth eating at Sci Fi for lunch and paying OOP -we're doing the same thing this year.

We like it a lot...not sure on the worth of a TS credit. We ate last time and paid OOP...if you just get a sandwhich it is not too badly priced. I love the Reuben there!

We did Sci-Fi on our last trip for a dinner. The burgers aren't on the menu for dinner, but all we had to do was ask. It was no problem.

Thanks, GrumpyBelle. I was scatching my head over a chicken sandwich and a Reuben on the dinner menu but no burger.

:)

I think that everyone should try it at least once. I would pay OOP for it.

Well it's not a 5 star meal, but the food is still good. We were a group of 4 in our mid 20's and went for the first time in August. We had a really good time. There's some restaurants that you go to more for the theming than for the food, and this is one of them. I think you should at least try it!

Sci-Fi is the one and only place we ate at last year that we absolutely HAVE to do again this year! It's our favorite!

It's worth it to go just for the atmosphere, but we both really loved the food! The Boyfriend got a burger and said it was one of the best things he ate the whole trip! I got the tofu and it was fantastic! I absolutely loved it!

good question-- I'm kinda thinking along the same lines you are. I think the kids might enjoy it, but the food just seems pretty lacking. (with the exception of the milkshakes, that is!)

We are doing Sci Fi for the first time in September. I originally had a dinner ADR there, but after reading the reviews, it seemed like it is better for lunch than for dinner so I switched it. We cannot wait to go, my kids have been wanting to try it out for a while now, but wasn't sure about the old scary movies that they play (they get freaked out about those things sometimes), but decided that they are getting older now and could probably handle it more.

We had great burgers, onion rings, and shakes and the atmosphere is totally cool. :cool1: My husband and I LOVED it. And we're not completely sold on theming, either. 50's Primetime couldn't be cooler, theme-wise, yet our meal was terrible and I won't be going back anytime soon.

That said, I would pay OOP for Sci-Fi and would recommend lunch, too!

Like just about everyone else, this one is a "must do" for our repeat trip. We ate there for lunch, and it really was more of a lunch restaurant than a dinner restaurant.

One of the things I liked best about it was that it was dark, and that seemed so much cooler when trying to get out of the hot sun.

ribs..good. onion rings..great. burgers..very good. shakes..very good. rueben....SUPER GOOD. atmosphere..................priceless. :rotfl2: dont miss it!!!!!!!!!!

I highly recommend the BLT soup - but make them take the lettuce out of it!

I like the burgers, too. The rest of the menu... meh! But its a really fun atmosphere, and the movies are great!

With the Tables in Wonderland discount, I think its a great deal - similar in pricing to Plaza at MK, if that helps. I've never done dining plans, so can't help there.
