After watching the Disney Unwrapped on FoodTV, DH has decided he wants to do Sci-Fi instead of 50's. Please post your pics (of food and restaurant), and give me your reviews and opinions!

I don't have any pictures but we love the Sci-Fi. My son was 10 last year when we ate there and it was the only place he wants to eat at again :thumbsup2 .

I know the food gets a lot of negative comments but I don't remember being disappointed. It was a little over priced for burgers and fries but the ambiance more than makes up for that. I would request a "front-seat" though. It would be awkward to be sitting behind strangers the entire meal. Other than that I would recommend the Sci-Fi

There will be four of us, and it looked like the cars sat two at a time, four to a car. Would the four of us get to sit together, facing each other, or just in twos in the same car?

For some reason people just don't like the the Sci-Fi, but we love it! The food is good and a lot of it. Dinning in the cars and watching B sci-fi movies, like the Attack of the 50 Foot Man, and many others, brings back great memories at the drive-in. I think it's a really neat place to eat.

Love the Sci-Fi restaurant. It's like nothing you've seen before. You wouldn't face each other seating wise unless you got one of the few picnic tables. It's 2 by 2 in the car seats. 50's diner is fun too, but Sci-Fi is really different. More of an experience.

We go here for the atmosphere, not because the food is superb. If you plan on burgers, onion rings and shakes, you will be happy. DH and I prefer the food at 50's PT, but DS (10) loves this place so we always end up eating at both.

We love Sci-Fi, too. It's a neat setting and you get a chance to sit & eat in a cool and somewhat relaxing dining theme from the past. The burgers and shakes are yummy. We have lunch each time we go. Be sure to make a ressie...it is very hard to get in.
:hourglass Just 5 more days until our trip!!!

The cars have 3 rows of seats. It's always just my DS and myself and we are the "Hitchhikers" and end up sitting in the 3rd row and we have never been uncomfortable. There is plenty of space between you and the folks in front of you just like if you were in a diner sitting in a booth...only you are looking at the backs of their heads-but not really because you are too busy looking up at the theatre screen. It's soo cool. We even are one of the few people that think the burgers are pretty good although a bit $$$ but worth the atmosphere and the whole experience. You'll have a good time.

We enjoy both PT and SciFi, personallly I prefer PT but would recommend trying both.

We loved it... Make sure you enjoy a shake while there.. they are so yummy!
this is the movie screen that you watch...

I love a good milkshake- can we order shakes with our meal and have them count as our dessert on the DDP?

We enjoy Sci Fi. It is the only restaurant we have been to every trip!! We are going back again this summer. We have always enjoyed our food. DH and I always share the steak sandwich. He sometimes gets the chili if he is extra hungry. The only thing that we have ever found not great was the kids hotdog. DD wouldn't eat it because it was "too hard". Now DD is very picky about her hotdogs, so I can't say if it was just her obsessiveness or if the hot dog was really bad.

This is 1/2 of the steak sandwich and onion rings. They split the entree in the kitchen and brought us each a plate with 1/2 the food. Also, I asked for no dressing on the sandwich. I believe it comes with a portobello mushroom too, but I don't like those so I put it on DH's plate.

In this picture you can see how everyone is seated. This is a 4 person car. They have mostly 6 people cars, so it will just have another seat in the back. When we've had a 6 person car, there are 2 "hitchhikers" in the back. The cars are facing towards the screen.

In this picture DD is eating the kids ice cream. It was a lot of ice cream!! The kids each got one with their meals. It was more than enough to feed all of us.

We loved Sci-fi and thanks to the people on the Dis we tried it minus the negative ones. My kids were 8,5,4 and were a family of 5 so we got a 6 seated car to ourselves. My oldest son sat in the front, me and daughter in the middle and my DH and youngest in the back. It was cozy and the movies were corny but good. We all stuck with burgers and fries and shakes and the food was great. It was cool inside so I was glad for the my sweatshirt (we go in Feb). I would recommend this place anyday and we'll return also. :woohoo:

Next trip to WDW: Feb or March 2007 :grouphug:

In Austin, we have a movie theater/restaurant called Alamo Drafthouse that is basically dinner IN a movie. Sci-Fi looks to me to be just like that, nothing special, but DH thought it looked really cool in the TV special. Keep those reviews and pictures coming!

We eat there almost every trip. Most of the time we just have burgers, onion rings and shakes. Here are the pics I have from our trip last October...

Chili appetizer (pretty good!)...

SciFi6.jpg

Artichoke dip appetizer (very good!)...

SciFi5.jpg

Cheeseburger and Fries (burgers are quite good, fries just okay)...

SciFi4.jpg

BBQ Ribs and Fries (okay, next time I'm getting my usual cheeseburger though)...

SciFi3.jpg

Apple Crisp dessert (I didn't care for it, tasted too much like cloves or something, next time I'm getting my usual vanilla milkshake)...

SciFi.jpg

Hot fudge sundae (yummy, I wish I'd gotten this instead of the apple crisp)...

Our 6-person car from behind...

Since DH and I now rent a car when we go to WDW, we've started a tradition. On our last day we head to Disney-MGM Studios and have lunch at the Sci-Fi before heading to the airport.

I have two favorite restaurants on WDW property, the Sci-Fi and Whispering Canyon Cafe.

we don"t the food here at all and overpriced. thought they had a better selection at the prime time.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
