Sci Fi and PS times

We had a PS last Saturday at Sci Fi. We waited over 40 minutes for our table.

I wish they had told us because it was murder trying to keep the kids from breaking stuff in the bookshop there. Not to mention they were begging for cookies because they were hunger.

BTW Before someone jumps all over me, I know PS's are NOT reservations so I never expect to sit down immediately. I've never had that long a wait more than 15 minutes before and they didn't mention it when I came to the hostess. now I will ask "How long?"

I understand your frustration and waiting 40 minutes with a PS and many small children is not fun.

I agree, next time ask how long the wait will be. We had to wait over 20 minutes after being told the wait would be 15 minutes and it was challenging keeping the little ones happy.

BTW, Pizza Planet is not that far away and I took some of the children over there to look around while we waited.

Sci Fi, Ohana's are 2 of the longest waits usually. Especially Sci Fi since it's in a park. For me, the best time has always been to do the first seating at lunch. Then the wait is only a few minutes. When we do dinner, it's always a long wait. It's one of the few places that you also seem to not be able to get in ahead of your PS if you asked. Years ago we always did dinner here and would get hungry earlier. Its one place we were never allowed to check in early.

The only time I have ever had to wait with a PS is at the Sci Fi. And then when we got in there (on a Saturday night) there were tons of empty cars (tables)! I was furious. Sorry, I've just never had a good experience at the Sci-Fi...

Sorry to hear about your bad experience... :( Was your PS for lunch or dinner?

This has happened to us on almost every trip to Sci Fi (we don't bother anymore). But we have also had the worse wait times for LeCellier too--30 to 45 minutes on every visit.

Probably about a month ago we ate dinner at Sci Fi too.
I had made PS' while at MK and we were driving to MGM. We waited maybe 10 minutes tops. But many walk up people were waiting.
To our surprise when we were seated the place was nearly half empty. I don't think any of the tables around the outside walls were even taken. We were wondering if they were short handed. We really did not see a reason why anyone should have waited to be seated.

we had the same kind of a wait last winter with a ps for 3:45...and when we got in, 1/2 the tables were empty! i think they made us wait till they could seat us with a family that would fill up the car( we were only 2) cause they did the same thing to a couple who sat in the next car over. ok wait if i don't have a ps & it's busy, rotten if i do and it's not!

MelanieC - Excellent advice on taking the first seating a lunch!! How far behind can they get!!
