Has anyone else had trouble with ADR for Sci-Fi? I have been trying for late August, 2018. I can see options for Prime Time, zero for Sci-Fi. Is this normal?

There have been a few posts on this recently. Apparently Sci Fi is becoming one of the most sought after and hardest to get reservations. I’d recommend using Touring Plans’ reservation finder - it will email or text you when a reservation becomes available and then you have to log in and book it. Only “trick” is that you really have to jump on it when you get the notification or someone else will snatch it up. Good luck!

It's popular. Use the Touring Plans free reservation finder tool. It works.

If it's important to you to get this, I'd use the Touring plans reservations finder like others have mentioned, but I'd advice to look for yourself when you can as well, as the reservation finder only searches so often. I found a reservation at CRT and managed to grab it without getting notified about it because of that.

Had the same trouble this morning at 180 days. I expected it to be a problem. There was actually 1ressie available I was trying to get but someone was quicker. Now nothing. How do you go about doing the reservation finder without having a subscription? I've seen others post you can do it for free, but I haven't been able to figure it out when I go on the site. Help appreciated!

I used the reservation finder this week for sci-fi for a trip within the next 2 mos. I got a text and email within 48hrs. I was able to immediately log in and snag it. Worked flawlessly. Way quicker than I expected, too.

In all my years of doing Disney I have never seen Sci Fi not have *something* available during our stay. There is something definitely going on differently this year. My guess is that, just as Disney wanted, DHS is now becoming the "it" park with the opening of Toy Story Land. Which is good for those of us finally going to see Pandaria lol

Just to add, we did Sci-Fi last trip and if you don't have a reservation you can still put your name in to eat there. I'm not sure how long you have to wait and you'll likely get a table that is in the back and isn't one of the cars, but if worst comes to worst, you can still eat there. They were taking walk-ins when we were there in February.

@Babs1975 Here’s the link. You need an account (they need to know how to contact you if something becomes available) but you don’t need a paid subscription. There are other benefits to the subscription and it’s reasonably priced so that may be worth checking out as well.

Thanks...how do you bypass putting your credit card in for the subscription though? Maybe I'm not in the right spot...

On the right, under “why join” there should be a link for basic access. Or just search for basic access.
I think I'm gonna have to check on my laptop instead of phone. I don't think I can see that using my phone. Thanks for the info!

Sci-Fi has been tough for the past 2-3 years in my opinion. We plan on it every year since my children and I love the experience and it is one of my first to book to make sure we secure the date and time I desire. If i want to switch it, the reservation finder has been my BFF.

May I ask why? I have the reservation but I chose it because it seemed like a nice place that had some normal everyday food and not a upscale place like most of my other places I have reserved.

Any suggestions on what to ask for seating wise with just two people?

Thanks

Two people is easy. You'll just get the back seat of a car.

Just keep trying! I leave for WDW tomorrow and I just snagged an ADR for Mon June 4th and we are a party of 6. :teeth:

I once in awhile was getting a reserve time that wasn't the greatest (because of my fast passes) & wondered if I should snag it up anyway.

I am glad I stayed relaxed and got the evening time/date I wanted. Now I don't need to move anything around.

People are either starting to release/cancel ADR's that they had double of or Sci Fi is releasing some more tables.

Keep trying but you may have better luck as your date nears and people cancel . :thumbsup2

Why so popular? Not sure. Unique atmosphere, comfort food, fewer options in DHS that get good reviews. In terms of seating, you will likely “hitchhike” in the back of a car. You’ll sit side by side in a row, just like if in the back seat. It’s cute. Have fun!
