School's Closing Early? Let's Do Disney in December! 12-10

LOOOVE the Mickey inflatable! :thumbsup2 I'm trying to decide what inflatable I want to buy. I dont know if it will be Disney though. :confused3

I think my dh has wanted one for a couple of years, so I am glad I found one!

Yay for Walgreens goodies!!!

My mom picked me up a light up Mickey to hang on the window of my apt :)

I'll have to go look at those clings..but since we're staying at AKL, I'm not sure if it's worth it but I could still put them up in my apt!

Love those ears! Sure beats the ones I got at MK for $8 (CM discount price)!!

We got our DME stuff as well but we're still waiting on the MYW package with luggage tags and we're under the 30 day window so I'll be calling by Wed if it doesn't arrive!

I saw some other lighted window decorations but didn't have anything in mind for them. Well, I did consider them for my classroom, but I really have to curb my spending!

I'm not sure how visible the clings will be at BCV, but we can enjoy them. I think my friend will like having them for Pop.

Oh that Christmas light necklace is perfect for parades and fireworks!!! So fun!!! Love the new glasses, too!

Thanks! :goodvibes I am going to give her the necklace on the second night... It was a great deal!

LOVE the new glasses...but then, you always look gorgeous!

That inflatable Mickey is so cute! The people across the road from us went all out this year and have a 10 foot inflatable snowman and a helicopter with Santa in it...I just love those things!

I am so happy your friend is getting her surgery....fingers crossed all goes well.

"Is she speaking Canadian":lmao::rotfl2:that cracked me up! Too darn cute!

Thank you .... How cool to have fun neighbors (you can enjoy it without all the work!)

My friend is doing pre admission today for Friday's surgery. I sure hope she is "fixed" after, she has been through enough.

Love the things you picked up for your bff's child - hope she enjoys them :cutie:

Yay on getting the window clings and Mickey!

I think the new glasses look great - hope you had fun Christmas shopping.

Thanks! I am still shopping for fun room decorations...I have some tr's to catch up on over my four day Holiday. Looking forward to reading yours!

Only 23 days left! Woot Woot!!

This week was a tough one. I had two 7 am to 7 pm days...7-2:30 school day; 3-7pm parent conferences. On Tuesday, I had to rush from my school to my daughters' school to meet with their teacher for a conference.

The girls did well and the teacher raved about them...thank goodness we are doing something right at home! :cool1:

Today was a day off for my girls, but I had a full day. My kids were great as always, and I declared it a Disney Wednesday. So throughout class they worked while listening to Animal Kingdom music.

One my friend's students (the one going to Disney at the same time), just returned from Disney. I chatted with him for a bit about the Art of Animation and SSR. He loves SSR bc of its proximity to DTD. They stayed at Beach Club and he was pretty luke warm about it. :confused3

Now, I have to report back about the Disney Outlet... I did not buy anything. Shocking, I know! My friend, however, bought T-shirts for her family and pjs for her daughter...

I enjoyed taking pictures!! (And being the weird person taking pictures...) at least it was my phone, not my DSLR...

Happy Thanksgiving, Debby! Hope you and your family have a lovely day!

Glad to hear the girls are doing so well in school -- not that I ever had any doubt that they were. :goodvibes

Lots of cute things at the Disney store -- I might have to mosey over and browse the online site later. ;)

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

It looks like they had a lot at that outlet!!!!

I'm hoping to hit the Disney Store tomorrow since I haven't seen the one in Cincinnati yet although I'm constantly reminded that I live 10 mins from the "real" Disney STORES but still!!!

:woohoo: on it being 22 days!!!

Love the pics of the Disney outlet - makes me want to pay ours a visit and spend some money!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family - hope you have a great day and enjoy the four day break

Are you out and about doing some Black Friday shopping this morning?

"Not I," said the person who wanted to stay in her warm bed and DIS. ;)
Hope you found the bargains you wanted. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the Disney Store pictures. I am ready to do some shopping (window shopping/picture-taking, for the most part) when we get to Disney World. I will pick up a new Christmas ornament and get something 2012, and if there are Christmas and New Year's pins, I will get those.

So proud of those incredible girls of yours and their good reports from school! :woohoo:

We had a nice Thanksgiving. I hope your family enjoyed one another; I'm sure it was a tough one.

Oh, I don't think I mentioned, or maybe I did previously, my daughters' lowest scores are always reading. haha. I know you would understand the irony in that! What is so odd is that they can pull a 99 in science, but a 92 in reading. Yet, they both entered fourth grade reading past the end of the year benchmark. Where is the guy scratching his head?

ohh, I LOVE the disney store near me! :goodvibes I havent been there in awhile though! Love your photo's!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! I know you are making your list and checking it twice! (15 days for us! 14 for you!)

I hope you are enjoying your Thanksgiving at "home"! Do you still think of it that way or is the apt in FL home?

I too enjoy those virtual shopping trips! We did have a nice break...and the whole week has passed again, so I have two more quickly approaching! ;)

Proud...read on...

We did venture out. The girls wanted to experience it. We went to wawa first at 6:30 and got cocoa and coffee...then, we headed to Target. After we went to Penneys. (Both of those places were stores I had to hit for errands anyway...) Once we walked the mall, the girls started arguing:

Emma: Mom, I want to get my hair cut with bangs.

Hannah: Me too.

Me: Girls, this is a conversation we will have to have later. (In my head hoping we can drop it entirely, NO BANGS. They have wavy hair...which is beautiful...those bangs would look ridiculous on them.)

Emma: Hannah, you always copy me.

Hannah: Who would want bangs anyway?

Me: (walking into Macys thinking, oh, let's see if they have a great sweater for dh) Girls, this is a conversation for later.

(All of us turning towards the men's department.)

Emma: You would look dumb with bangs.

Hannah reaches over and pinches her sister.

(We all make the sharp turn deeper into the men's section, and out of the general public.:rolleyes1)

Emma kicks Hannah and Hannah goes down. in. the. middle. of Macys. probably in front of cameras.

Me: That's it. We're done. Let's go. (Visions of the Bob Evan's on Black Friday breakfast tradition vanish in a fog of red.) :headache:

On a bright note, I guess everyone was home in bed after shopping at midnight, because the crowds were quite light. :rotfl2:

At any rate, I am proud of them. I make sure to tell them that often. My parents made sure to tell me. One of the sadnesses that goes with my dad not being here is that I can't hear him tell me how proud he is of me. I knew he felt it and he certainly said it to me often. Maybe that's why I miss it. :flower3: (My mom reminds me often though!)

Those were some long days you put in! Glad to hear the girls are doing great!

How I miss our Disney Store....I could never pass it by without going in!

I was so excited when I saw that one opening. We don't have one at our local mall. The other one which is closer is at King of Prussia Mall (one of the largest - if not the largest malls on the East Coast.) I don't tend to go there too often...

Thanks!

15 days-- and it's getting late so almost 14...

This week began slow, but accelerated nicely! It was a rough one at school, but the problem is being resolved and I am tired of complaining about it...

So, tomorrow is Disney Friday, but I snuck a little Disney in on Wednesday. My classes are reading The Crucible and I showed them some clips of the HUAC. One of the interviews was of Walt defending his workers declaring their patriotism!

We decorated our house on Saturday...maybe Sunday...all runs together. One year, it was 60 on Thanksgiving weekend and I didn't set up decorations. The next weekend it snowed. I learned. I put them up while it was 60!

The Mickey inflatable looks great! I am going to turn in for the night! I will check back with everyone later. Enjoy your Friday!:cheer2:

:woohoo: for 14 days!!! Your trip is getting so close!

Oh no on having a rough week at school...am glad the problem is being resolved.

Yay on having a Disney Wednesday and decorating your house :thumbsup2 Have a great Friday...am having a girly night out tonight which I'm really looking forward to :goodvibes

14 for youuu...13 for meee! It's so close! SO exciting!! :woohoo:

:santa:

I don't think I mentioned my quick Sunday trip to the outlets! I had to return Samba sneakers that I thought my girls would want but changed their mind on their list. (It is hard shopping before December!) Now, it turns out they will need them anyway for indoor soccer! UGH. Maybe I will get them for a better price.

Of course, I visited Disney Store (still no purchases; I will wait until Disney) and Vera.

I did pick up this great travel wallet:

I also, picked up one for my friend in Blue Lagoon (those were the only prints) and I kept the red one for me since it was Mickey colors. Backstory: My gf was ordering a small backpack and asked me to help her decide on color. DH said why doesn't she get red and black for Mickey...which is why I went with Deco Daisy.

I also was able to get my one daughter a backpack for $29.99 plus 20% off, and a new school bag for me - on sale for $30.

Z4d6.jpg

It is the perfect shape for my school folders and plan book. If you have teacher family members, this really might become their favorite school bag!

So on to Disney...

I finalized our meals...

Chef Mickey- lunch; 1900 Park Fare- dinner; Cape May- dinner; Tusker- lunch, but trying for breakfast!

I am a bit anxious about school. I brought a ton of papers home today, since I didn't get to them at school today. I typically administer a quiz to kids every Friday...on the 16th I will have to make sure I get those graded quickly, but I will be soooo antsy! (so will the kids since it is the day before winter break for everyone!

Fun wallet!!!

School is kicking my behind these days -- I can't seem to ever get anything done -- too much going on, I guess!

Great update and I can't believe how close it is now! I hope things do get resolved sounds like you're having a tough time:hug:

Love the purchases! Your break starts one week before ours....our schools go to Dec 23 this year:scared1: then two weeks off and back the second week in January!

I can't wait to hear all about this trip...it's really starting to bum me out that I have no trip to plan for next year and even more so that Jasmine probably won't be coming with us in 2013 because she'll be working to save for that year of university! It makes me weep everytime I think of it:sad1:

Anyhoodle, I will live through you my friend:hug:

Me too! I just spent over five hours grading and catching up with IEP emails, a homebound kid's work, etc. I still have to read my AP's papers (which I have waited far too long to give back.) Then, I really need to plan next week. :scared1:

It's okay though--Disney in less than two weeks!!!

Early this week was tough, but then I had a meeting with my principal. A team of us are working on fixing it. So, Friday, I felt like a ton of bricks were lifted from my shoulders. I have wonderful students (for the most part), so the actual time in MY classroom is quite pleasant.

I am sorry that you are waiting until 2013. You will really enjoy all of your furniture daily, though! (We skipped a trip to get new couches a couple of years ago.) Maybe Jasmine will be able to go--it is a way off and with all the hard working she will be doing, she might need the break!

I have to ask if Anyhoodle is normal for your area? We say anyhoo, and I teach levels of language having kids analyze diction. I am always looking for expressions that are regional to share with kids. :teacher:

I better run- back to the last set of papers...and then on to laundry :laundy:

Have a great girlie night!! FUN- FUN. I want to hear about what you did!

Thanks I had a really FUN night out...we had a bite to eat and a few drinks whilst catching up on what everyone had been doing. It turned out to be interesting as I ended up speaking with a guy who was out with his friends...he wasn't single though so decided to leave him to it! :lmao:

Anyway on to your update and love your purchases. I agree that your school bag seems the perfect shape for school folders etc :thumbsup2 Yay on having a school quiz - I used to love having the fun ones at the end of term.

Sounds like a blast; shame he wasn't single...he must have been a good one too to let you know. ;)

I do absolutely love the bag. I am contemplating another. :rolleyes1

Only ten days... wow it is approaching so quickly.

Saturday night, I took my little ones to see my school little ones. Some of my baby nerds were in the production Bah Humbug. One was the lead of Scrooge while another played Marley (he actually stole the show!) Another was Scrooge's sister and sang a lovely solo, while two others were chorographer and stage crew.

My girls enjoyed it...honestly, it was a total school play...lighting blunders, mic glitches, etc. :rotfl: I was glad to see my students and support them. I also was happy to play with my camera. I didn't get any good pictures, and when I got home I started to think about why. Then, it clicked. FINALLY, I know how to use my manual settings on my camera. I AM SO EXCITED!

On Sunday, we went to pick out our tree, and Monday afternoon, we decorated.
I played with the camera, and practiced what I need to do with manual and yeah!! I got it!

Here is our handsome cat, Sprint. I will have to post a picture of his adorable sister, Skittle.

Update on trip planning:

I was able to make a breakfast ressie for Tusker House and cancel the lunch one. I am very relieved about this!

I ordered packing cubes:

ebags+packing+cubes.jpg

They seem to fit my OCD personality. I ordered the above set for less than $40 (free shipping too). I think it will help to have a cube with my running clothes, our winter just in case gear, kitchen stuff (coffee, cups, splenda, cocoa, etc.) a cube per girl for clothes...not sure.

I plan on laying out everything on my bed on Sunday, and pulling out a variety of suitcases and bags to see what works best. I make this so much harder than it has to be!

Tomorrow is Wed already! YAY! :yay: I need to get back to our itinerary! I have so much to fit in and so little time to do it!
