Most everyone I know tries their hardest in school, there are a select few at my school who slack.

I've been concentrating on my hardest classes, and really REALLY let my religion grade slip. I didn't realize how bad untill I got my latest test back...52%!

Now it was a really bad day for me, and I know I didn't put nearly enough effort as I usually do....but man even on a bad day I can usually pull a 70%.

I was supposed to get it signed, but I didn't, I dont even know why. I geuss I was scared, my teacher forgot to ask for the test today and I figured I was home free. So I got up the nerve and told my Mom today about my grade.

Its not even just that, I haven't been doing my homework. It wasn't my first priority grade....but I just let the slacking get ahead of me.

I was checking my Mom's emails, because a lot of theatre stuff of mine gets sent to her, and my religion teacher emailed her....now the big questions. Should I open it? No I shouldn't, there is no way to set it back to unread, so it would be obvious. BUT say it just stated the grade...well my Mom already knows....so I could delete it and avoid getting in trouble.

I am sooooo nervous. I feel like I am a little kid again (we had to get EVERYTHING signed back then). Seriously, never EVER let your grades get this bad...its just about the worst feeling in the world. :guilty: And I know its all my fault.

Your mom is going to find out one way or another. It would be very mature of you to tell her whats happening. She may not be pleased, but its better than hiding it and finding out later.

Anyways, good luck!

True...I don't know.

See, she is a teacher, shes always put a huge responsibility on me to do well. I have always lived up to that expectation, even if I didn't have THE best grade, I always put in my best effort. I dont know what happend...I just let everything get so bad in this class. If I even put the tiniest but of effort in I could get a B. Its not even a hard class!!!

On a birght note, I did pass in my homework today. :)

I've also had the pressure through high school to do well from my parents as well. Again if you tell her face to face it will go over better than her reading it and finding out. :)

Yeah, the same thing kind of happened to me.
Be mature and dont open it.
Just talk to your mom about the problem, it helps alot by talking it out!

Good luck and if you want to talk PM! :]

For my English grade, I was doing good. Then I did bad on a few tests and brought it down to a low A. I just had an Odyssey test and I thought I did really good. But I got a 76% or a C+. I was and am pissed.

My mom knew the grade though before I did.

Parents know everything. So don't try keeping things from them. They'll find out. And most of the time, they can relate because they were kids once and they were stressed from school many times. NEVER be afraid to talk to your parents about anything let alone school!

I was slacking in Algebra II this year.
I was down to an 81%.
Yes yes, before I get jumped on, I know 81 isn't bad.
But since I've been expected from my parents and myself to get A's I felt bad.
I got a 71 on my test and I finally got the guts to tell my mom.
Yeah she was a little mad and laid down the law of no computer if I get to a C.
But I'm glad she did. Now I'm up to a 91 in that class. =)

And they can go on my school website and check my grades but they never do.
They just expect me to do well.
I don't really have a problem telling them when I am getting a bad grade.

Good Luck!

Just don't let hobbies or anything take over your subjects.
And personally, I think that tests shouldn't be a big a deal as they do. Some people are simply bad test takers, even if they know the material. The teachers don't know if a kid will freak out once they get a test and start to worry, thus doing bad...even if they studied and had everything down.

There are a lot more things to watch out for. Homework, classwork, and participation. Tests are an imporatant aspect..but bottom line: I don't think they should be as important as they are.

D: I actually turned that into a bit of a rant [or maybe complaint? :p] Sorry!

Yes, I completely agree. We get NO quizzes in that class. And my homework grade has been...slacking. :headache:

See I just finished up doing one show and started right into another one...and then I have one more literally the week after Christmas Carol, and another after that. (Right now my schedule is pretty much booked till May 11th) Im afraid she is gonna think thats the reason. But honestly, I just figured i'd get a C....not a D or an F!!!

Plus both my parents are wicked stressed because of Christmas, and our christmas party, and I really really feel bad for springing it on them now. :sad2:

You guys are complainign about 80%... in biology i got FORTY PERCENT man i can't wait 2 drop that class!

I worked my but off last year and managed a B in bio...but it was HARD. Chem is a lot more fun!!

I hate Chemistry.
I don't really get bad grades... like on tests... and if I do, my parents just say 'Study more next time'. They don't make a big deal out of it because I don't usually get anything below 85, so they're understanding about it.

I totally agree!
They are cutting out most coursework options for GCSE's and A Levels in England, which means grades are only going to be based on exams.

I think this is really unfair to people in the world who aren't good at exams. I have real problems with spelling and grammer under pressure (i'm mildly dyslexic), so i hate having exam come back covered in red where my spellings are wrong. If i get to do work on my own i have time to check it through or get my mom to check it

I do well in school, but lately I've been worrying about my Algebra II grade. It's been dropping, and that's not good. I have extremely high expectations of myself; my parents don't even bother to punish me if I do badly, because I'll torture myself about it.

I really, REALLY don't like chemistry, but I'm making a 100%, because my teacher doesn't really know what he's doing.
