School ring

My son's was around $220 through Jostens. But there are cheaper ones through them as well.

Jewelry stores typically go through "Artcarved" and there is Walmart too.

When I was in high school jostens had a payment plan available. While I didn't get a ring (I saw my sister never wear her's) many of my friends were able to pay for them with a down payment JUNE of junior year, and payments September and November and they had them before Christmas break.

We just got DD16's on walmart.com for $99. She already had a ring sizing template from the Jostens dealer that came to school so we used that to gauge size.

I don't know how much your ds/dd will wear it, but I wore mine all the time. My parents got me the white gold ring and I still have it and I never turned colors (wink)

I think they paid around $2,000 for mine? I still have it and wear it on a chain along with my Army Wife Ring

we got our daughters ring through www.jostens.com

I remember them having basic rings for 69.99 and 79.99.
Yes, few students order these basic rings, but they're simple, traditional class rings . . . but no choices: You get the school colors for the stone, the school mascot on one side, your graduation year and something really basic on the other side. You choose silver or gold (probably some other metal, but I mean silver or gold color). These basic choices are VERY close to what most of the students choose if they go for the "full priced rings" -- they vary only in that some students will choose football or art as a "side design" instead of the more basic mascot.

They make sense, and they're cheaper even than the Walmart rings.

You get the school colors for the stone,.

I got my birth stone for the stone and my school colors were added to the side with the mascot. This was at Walmart since Jonson was too expensive for me. I had to pay for my own Senior Gear and Graduation stuff.

$2000 for a class ring?

I don't care if my daughter wears it everyday for the rest of her life I am not spending even close to that amount on a class ring. I thought my parents were generous when they spent $350 for mine.

We opted not to get a class ring. My girls really weren't involved in sports so didnt need one for that aspect. And I really didnt like spending that much money on something they would only wear for a year or two.
For my first graduate we got a James Avery ring. For my second graduate I had a necklace made in the shape of Texas with the school mascot in the center. Doesnt look school-y at all. For the third one....not sure yet, we still have another year to go :)

DD opted not to get a HS class ring. I got her a nice birthstone ring (ruby) instead.

In my experience in college, most people stopped wearing their HS ring Freshman year in college. It wasn't 'cool'.
