I have an English project due next Thursday, 4/5/07. It is supposed to be an original, creative newspaper dedicated to Lord of the Flies. The completed assignment is supposed to look like a real newspaper. I wrote all of the articles, but I'm having trouble with the last part - what kind of paper do I put them on? I thought of getting those big pads of paper that go on easels, but the cheapest I could find was around $20 and there is no way I am shelling out $20 when I will use only 1 (maybe 2 if I mess up) sheets of it! Any ideas on what else I could use? Posterboard was considered, but it's very thick. I suppose that will be a last resort, as it is not very "newspaper-like". TIA!

In the crayon section of most stores, they sell a kids' doodle paper that's a lot like plain newsprint. Maybe that would work. Sounds like a fun project!

An art supply store or a teachers supply store will have doodling paper. It's very similar in feel to regular newpaper. Paper for childrens easels are large and feel like newprint if you need something larger.

You could use normal paper and burn the edges--just be careful. I have also had students dye paper using tea, but I'm not sure how they did it exactly.

Could you get a roll of plain white shelf paper and cut it to fit? We have a party store that sells large rolls of white paper that are used to cover tables. We use it for everything.
