School Paper Help

We are wanting to start a school paper for DD midle school. We need some advise on what kind of computer program to purchase. We want something simple for the kids to use, we do have several students that seem to be computer wiz's, we will have some color and we are going to have ads and coupons plus school pictures. Anybody have any experience with this? Any suggestions on what program to purchase?

Microsoft office with the Microsoft Publisher is going to fit all of your needs it is just expensive. You can also try OpenOffice it is free but takes a little more learning.

How is it going to be printed? Personally, I would recommend InDesign but its not cheap. With the education discount I believe it alone is around $300. Upgrades are about half price. Once you know how to use it, it's a breeze and kids these days can easily pick up on how to use it.

If the paper is going to be printed by someone professional, don't use Publisher. It never works well and most professional places won't have the program to run it.
