School group going to WDW

Does anyone have a student that went with a school group since Fastpass+ began? How did that work? Were they able to make advance ride reservations? Please offer any advice you have. My 8th grader will be going in November with a group of 50 and I am trying to make plans for at least some of them.

My DS's high school band just got back last month from Disney. They stayed offsite. I was not sure what to expect. We have been to WDW many times and know how to use FP+. The kids were issued a copy of their ticket just before the 30 day mark and told to set up an account on MDE. My DH was a chaperone for my son's group. My son had his friends over to our house a few days before the 30 day window and they decided what rides to FP+. My husband linked his MDE account to all of theirs and when the 30 day mark came he went in and made FP+ for the whole group (8 kids and him). He was even able to add a few extra kids along the way when they wanted to join their group. It was the week of Easter and crowded but they did very well and didn't have to wait a long time.

I just brought my school choir over spring break. Our travel agent sent me our ticket numbers, which I distributed to the kids. This was just before the 30 day mark, since we were staying off property. Most set up their made accounts and scheduled their fp selections. Some grouped together, some smaller groups. A few decide to wait until they got there, had to set up their made anyway...lol! I also bought MM for the group. There were 31 total, we got almost 2000 pictures from photo pass photographers! If you get MM for the group, everyone has to link their mde account to the MM owner. Easy to do, just time consuming with a large group... But to get that many professional pictures all included for the $169, so worth it! When the group meets up in the middle of the day, get great group shots in to front of the castle! Great to hang a large photo of in the classroom! I tried to time ours during the mid day show at the castle and a few shots have the fireworks going off over us! Awesome!

Great advice!! Thanks for the tips. I will email the teacher to make sure we can get the ticket numbers. We have also been many times and know how to use the fast pass +. Staying offsite and making ressies 30 days out is very new to me. LOL
