My DD has had the nicest bus driver for 3 years. She greets them every morning and wishes them a good afternoon every day, every child.

I want to get a small gift for her so I am looking for suggestions. I don't want it to be over the top or too small either. I am not a baker or a crafty person so homemade is out of the question.

I was thinking about a gift card, but what is a respectable amount? My town pays an arm and a leg for the school bus, but the fee has nothing to do the driver.

Any thoughts other than Dunkin Donuts?

Funny I was going to say Dunks..... that is where I always see my DS's bus driver killing time between routes... :lmao:

I'm a school bus driver in PA and I get a lot of target gift cards usually $15-$20. At Christmas i get a lot of Starbucks cards too. I really love the target cards because I can use it on myself, or get stuff for the baby or my older kids. One of my students always gives me a yankee candle at christmas and $50 cash at the end of the year. The kids and parents on my run are so sweet and generous, I adore them.

Wow - you do have some great people on your route!

I ususally would go with a gift card to the local coffee or bagel place.

I just did DD gift cards for all of my ds's teachers plus the bus driver.

You can do $5, 10, or more depending on your budget.

And for a cute way to present...even if you're not 'crafty'...ask them if they will give you or let you purchase (mine charged $.10 each) some Collatta cups with lids. Grab straws too. Put some shredded paper in the cup with the gift card nestled in it. Put on the lid and add the straw. Then have dd write a thank you note, hole punch it in the corner, run a small ribbon through the hole and tie onto the straw.

I was able to find adorable orange/pink blank note cards so I used those. I printed out in orange/pink writing 'Hope you have a really cool summer!' and cut those out and glued them to the front of the note for a custom card. But you can skip that and it would work just as well. :goodvibes

We have 3 bus drivers that we buy for...i got a big popcorn bucket that Target had in the dollar spot, put in a few boxes (like the ones you get at the movies) of candy, a bottle of coke and a few bags of microwave popcorn...hope they like it, it was my daughter's idea:)

WHen we knew our bus driver better we gave her bath and body works products. Now it is a man and we give him Tim Horton gift cards (Can coffe shop). I don't think you can go wrong because any gift is a great show of thanks for safely driving your children.

I would do a 25 dollar gift card to Panera (it is versatile cause you can get a meal OR you can just go in to pick up bagels or muffins to take home OR you can make the card last a longer time by just going in for coffee or a smoothie every so often)
Or a gas card...everyone needs gas right

I'm a school bus driver & have recieved all kinds of gifts from gift cards (usually $10-$15), candles, candy lotion, etc... I have to say though this past Christmas a parent gave me a card and she basically filled it with a letter thanking me for driving her child to & from school safely everyday. Not that I didn't appreciate the "presents" I got, this letter was by far the nicest "gift" any parent has given me.
