Scheduled Inductions - your experiences??

Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences.

For those of you who think I am selfish, or that I should run away from my OB, or whatever - you are entitled to your opinion, of course. However, my purpose of even starting this thread was to hear from others who had scheduled inductions, not to be bashed or to have my OB bashed (for the record, I haven't even discussed this with her yet.) For those of you who PM'd me to let me know how horrible I am for considering such evil medical intervention - mind your own business.

You know, this morning, I didn't post my reasons for considering asking my doctor about this, not because I was being elusive but simply because I didn't have time. Now I just sort of feel that I don't want to post my personal business (this mainly due to the PM's.)

Anyway, thanks to those of you who responded with your experiences, I really appreciate it a lot!

I don't think she meant anything towards you.

Just the experience how threads like this evolve and as you have seen...you have had several who said DON'T DO IT and any good doctor wouldn't let you.

She basically was coming to your defense by implying it is your choice and if it is something you and your doctor are comfortable with..then do not worry about some of the posts here. It think she quoted the one who said to run away from your doc if they even just "considered" it.

Best wishes! The longer you can hold out..the better off you might be...but the choice is between you and your doctor.

It would be very important to know the policy of your OB as to what happens if the induction is not working...i.e. can they just say nevermind and send you home...or are you there until you deliver regardless of how you deliver.

Thank you Lisa.....you knew just where I was coming from.:)

   to you. It is awful when people PM such stupidities. I have been on that receiving end....

Just to note: very few are really like that, most of us are great people..I PM'ed a poster to apologize for this thread, i felt I went to far. Hugs again.

Sorry, if I misunderstood - I will admit that I am very sensitive about this!

   LOL....I know ALL about those pregnancy hormones. Just wait until your little sweetie is born....mine are all over the place!!:scared: My hubby sent me a pajama-gram for Valentines day with a huge arrangement of roses and I cried for 2 hours after they arrived (b/c it was so very sweet)....:confused3 :confused3

ETA: **** those jerks sending you pm's......give me their names...I'll have a talk with them...hee hee.

PS - Lisa - if you think you're itchy now, wait until (if) you have an Epidural. You will be itchy all over and I suggest bringing along a favorite antihistimine or something because my hospital couldn't find me one Benadryl and I laugh watching the baby video of me at the hospital 30 minutes after giving birth and i'm scratching myself all over asking the staff for a benadryl - it's funny now to watch LOL

Seriously? I guess that was the one good thing about the rash - I couldn't possibly itch anymore than I already did, and I was still on the Prednisone to control it. (Not that it really helped - it just made me crazy enough to not notice the itching.) So the epidural was great for me! :rotfl: And with an induction, you'll probably want the epidural - I was fine with the contractions until they started coming too fast and too frequent. I never had a chance to really catch my breath in between them and that's why I lost the ability to "control" the pain.
