Scenes from around the world and BEYOND

I would love to know exactly what the great Martin Luther King, Jr. would really think of BO's socialistic leanings...just sayin.

Just sayin .......... MLK probably would've looked at Obama and thought his dream finally came true. A black person was judged, not by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character.

OTOH, MLK would've looked at the other side and thought ............... "SSDD". Just sayin.

For one thing, he would think the republican party of his day looks nothing like the republican party of today...

I disagree. The Republican party hasn't changed at all. Towards the end of King's life, the south had already turned Republican because of civil rights and the Republican "southern strategy" was in full swing.

Today's Republican party would've felt completely at home with Hoover too.

:rotfl2: Yep, I guess I am dumb, I said 32 million...it was 59 MILLION. :scared:

It was also November 3, 2004. :lmao: I'm just being hard on ya! The paper was probably dated the 5th.

OP, thanks for sharing the perspective from around the world.

Oh, yeah. He heard crap like that times ten... ;)

Can you imagine the I Have A Dream speech talking about money and how it is spent? It was about conditions, character, love and respect, something that was in need of desparate change in his time... and still does.

From the speech:

And when this happens, when we allow freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual:

Free at last! Free at last!

Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!

The pictures in the original post reflect these words in a way I'm sure, he dreamed of.:thumbsup2

Man, he's gonna break a lot more hearts that just his supporters in the US.

I think it's creepy that so many people around the world are so emotionally attached/affected by our elections. Or is it just this one.... :confused3

:thumbsup2 I think most of the negativity is limited to a select few and FOXhole news. ;)

FOXHOLE news:lmao: :lmao:

Oh, I almost forgot... a scene from Fox News about 11:30pm 11/4th....

poor Hannity:sad1:

The visit the National Black Republican Association website and see what YOU think.

Where is the outrage?

Why is there a NEED for the National Black Republican Association? Aren't you all Republicans? Why does one group feel the need to be defined by their race? Doesn’t this make it hard for the party to be unified? Surely having that label creates divisiveness within the party.

We always hear people complaining about BET, Miss Black USA,.... why is this ok?:rolleyes1

:thumbsup2

Rosa sat so Martin could walk...
Martin walked so Barack could run...
Barack ran so our children can FLY!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I never understood the need to cry when someone gets elected to begin with. Being happy and over joyed, yes, but crying? :confused3 I don't understand it. Then again I'm not star struck, so I don't think I'll ever understand.

Why is there a need for a Congressional Black Caucus? Doesn't that create divisivness within Congress?

You know what? I cried, too if you can imagine that. Why? Because my Mom didn't live to see this historic delevopment. Sorry you don't understand.

I think the point was about the Black Reps was the fact that the PP pointed this out in a positive light. There are LOTs of examples and they have been villified before, this time it's brought up to make a point.

I can't tell you how many threads I've read here complaining about BET, HBCUs, UNCF... The majority of those complaining tend to be Republican. Since they say they don't see the need for the other black organizations, I assume they feel the same way about the National Black Republican Association.

I have never heard of the Black Republicans, so I really can't comment on them. However, I don't see a need for either of these groups, never have and never will.
