Scavenger Hunt ideas for MK resorts...

We are planning a scavenger hunt for our first day at the Poly next Thursday...We will be checking in around noon and have the afternoon hours to kill before we go to the Hoop de doo for dinner...our family is going to split into two groups, and the items must be found within the three monorail resorts only...we're looking for different ideas of things to collect, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!...

These are some of the things we have come up with so far:

Pressed penny from any resort - has to say resort name on it- 10 pts each

mickey mouse sticker- 5 pts

mickey shaped straw- 10 pts

mickey autograph- 25 pts

mickey soap- 5 pts

resort postcard- 10 pts each

swizzle stick- 10 pts

resort maps- 5 pts each

disney cruise line brochure- 5 pts

downtown disney brochure- 5 pts

honorary bus drivers license or monorail license- 20pts

photo with chef dick (Poly Concierge chef)- 10pts

collect 100 tokens from contemporary resort arcade 10 pts

matchbook from any resort (must have resort name on it) 10pts

photo of a brick around the world from new jersey (our home state)- 5pts

get a picture of the menu from concourse steakhouse- 5 pts

get a photo with mousekeeping staff from any resort- 15 pts each resort

What about a photo of the 5 legged goat on the mosaic mural at Contrmporary?


(Can you get matchbooks from resort? Are they available, given their view on smoking? In all my years there, not sure if I have ever seen them.)

about the matchbooks, i told my dh this.. and he said we'd put it on the hunt anyway.. because, we like to collect matchbooks at places we visit and write our names on the inside cover with the date.. well, we asked for a matchbook at the tambu lounge at the polynesian one time and they didn't have any with their name on it, but the bartender wrote tambu lounge on it..

so, i think it's all a ploy for our team to win because the other team won't be able to find a matchbook, but we'll just take a picture of the guy writing tambu lounge on one.. haha

Is this outside the park only? (yeah, well I did read it, just didn't sink in!)

How about sand from the Poly, GF, etc beaches?

And tell us more about the Beers for Ears club!

Hey Penn,

"beers for ears" was a huge movement throughout the country several years ago...lol...it had to do with the fact that the concierge lounge at the Poly did not serve beer...In the evening they would serve wine and after dinner liquors, but no beer...so a grass roots movement was started, and I don't know if it actually had an effect, but I do know that I can know get a cold beer at any time of day in the Poly Concierge Lounge!!!...

There used to be alot more of us on here...but like anything else, once we got it, people started taking it for granted!!!

I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN OUR STRUGGLE!!!!!!!!

Here's a few:

Picture of the "hidden Mickey" on the grand piano in the lobby of the GF.

Picture of the hidden Mickey in the floor in the Polynesian lobby (GCH).

A magnet/pin that has each resort's logo.

A cocktail napkin that has the resort's name on it (not sure if they have these, but I "think" I remember seeing them.



BTW, we started a pressed penny collection for my son and I couldn't find any with the resort name on it at the Polynesian or Contemporary. Didn't get to look at the GF.
