Hi!

I am going next week with my 2 kids (4, 9) and my 75 year old mom
My kids get scared VERY easily and my mom has everything from claustrophobia to vertigo....
We don't all have to go on the same rides, but I will really appreciate a list of:
1. Rides/shows that may be too scary for the little ones
2. Rides too intense for my mom
3. Rides little ones/my mom will REALLY enjoy

I know Snow White, Stitch, Great Movie Ride, Dinosaur are all out...
:goodvibes

And of course ToT I will enjoy by myself

My family and I went on Mission Space last November and my wife, mother-in-law, and my 2 kids all got sick and really didn't like the ride. They felt it was too intense. I, on the other hand, LOVED IT! My DD that is 8 nearly freaked out! My entire family needed to sit for about a half hour after the ride. The Tower of Terror everyone loved but it did seem to scare my mother-in-law who said it was intense but did enjoy it.
Take care and Have GREAT TIME!

If the kids scare easily, I would avoid the 3D shows. Especially It's Tough To Be a Bug and Honey I Shrunk The Audience. I have not gone to either of those once without someone having to leave with their crying child (myself included on our 1st trip). PhilharMagic and Muppets are much easier to take if you want to try those.

Magic Kingdom: I've heard that Snow White and Pirates of the Caribbean have scared kids, but your kids are older so I don't know. Haunted Mansion might be too scary. Big rides..Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain.

Epcot: Big ride...Test Track

Animal Kingdom: I would not do Dinosaur if they get scared easily.

MGM: big rides...Rock N Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror. I have heard that Fantasmic scares some, but we love it. Star Wars might be too scary.

My daughter (who hates loud noises and fireworks, and was terrified of The Great Movie Ride) loved Philharmagic, the Buzz Lightyear ride, and Aladdin's Flying Carpet.

We were just there last week and we took our DS 2 on the Haunted Mansion 3 times and Snow White twice. He was fine with both of those but he hated anything that was 3-D. We were in philharmagic when we discovered that fact. We just didnt take him on anymore 3-D attractions. I think your kids can handle those things. Also, he had no problem with Pirates. It was funny really, we were nervous to take him on those rides but he loved them. What we thought he would like (Dumbo) he cried and hated. You never know til you try!

Magic Kingdom: Haunted Mansion: dark and scary sounds. Space Mountain:I got on this ride when I was 4 years old and I cryed after it because it is dark and has some surprise drops. Splash Mountain: Not that scary but it has a big drop at end! ( I always duck my head at the drop! ) Pirates of the carrabean: FUNNY not scary and all.

Animal Kingdom: Dinosuar: VERY LOUD! and scary dino at end. Expidition Everest: kind of big drop and gose backwards. backwards part is very wierd it feels like u are about to fall through your seat BIG YETI AT END!!!

Epcot: Mission Space: very intence and a lot of G Force. Test Track: It's not that scary but some parts maybe.

MGM Studios: Rock 'n' Roller Coaster: I love this ride so much! Yet it has loop's and a cork screw dark and fast when u take off. Tower of Terror: Very dark and scary and intence i recomend your child dose not get on this but when i was 4 i got on this and loved it! Great Movie Ride: it is kind of scary i used to close my eyes when the alien came out he is UGLY! and the Indiana Jones part is sort of scary seeing all the zombie type things with red eyes. yet it does have the wizard of Oz,Micky Mouse, Tarzan and much more! my favorite part is the very end when it have all the movie clips together. Star Wars: It's not scary at all!!! I think it is FUN.

I dont know but maybe your son will like some of the big rides. If he gets scared easy dont get on ToT or RnR I love them all but I am a little bit older. But I REALLY dont like ToT I think it is to intence
I got on all the rides when I was 4 (but not Rock 'n' Roller Coaster) and I loved them all but space mountain. Have a Wonderful Trip at Disney World!!!!

Aren't there 2 sides of Mission Space now - one intense and one low key? I rode in 2003, but from that experience, I wouldn't let my DD7 ride in January. Which side did you ride?

The Great Movie Ride and The Haunted Mansion bothered my DD7. Nothing bothered DD2.

(We didn't try RNR or TofT or Mission Space or Test Track.)

1) Haunted Mansion scared my 4 year olds last year, so I would maybe skip that one for the 4 year old. The nine year old would maybe be okay on it, if you tell him/her a head of time what to expect. Another one that scared them was Pirates of the Caribbean, maybe want to skip that for the 4 year old but I think the 9 year old would be fine on it.
Maelstrom is another one I would avoid, at least for the 4 year old. Again, 9 year old would probably be fine if they know in advance what to expect.
My kids were scared of all the 3-d movies. They did make it through Philharmagic, but we had to leave the Muppets one early. We didn't even attempt the other two. I would try Philharmagic first; if they don't like that one don't bother trying the rest.
One thing I would suggest is having your kids watch the Youtube videos of the rides, so they know what to expect.

2) For your Mom, besides the obvious thrill-rides she may want to skip Dumbo, Magic Carpet rides, and the dinosaur ride since she has vertigo. And for sure skip Goofy's Barnstormer, which is zippier than it looks. Peter Pan ride might be out too, depending on how bad her vertigo is. For sure skip Soarin'. Haunted Mansion might be "iffy" too with the claustrophia, just because you sit in those little ride vehicles, and sometimes they stop.

3) Some good, safe bets for your Mom and the kids: It's a small world, Mexico boat ride, pooh bear ride, jungle cruise, buzz lightyear

One of my favorite Disney memories is from 3 years ago when I rode ToT with an elderly couple. He was 79, and she was 77. They were sooo cute and really seemed to be thrill junkies. And, she was even bored by the ride.:goodvibes

DINASOUR scared the SNOT out of my DD5. I didn't care for it much either, for that matter.

The photo they took of us on that ride was hilarious...we were both leaned over each other hiding our faces!

EE is way too intense, HM might be too scary for your kids, Buzz Lightyear might be a good ride as well as TTA.

The kids would probably love Mission Space (the green - easy side without the spinning). The grandmother wouldn't - it's very closed in. Not good for a claustrophobic.
