"Twilight in the Desert" was depressing in that it says that the fountain of oil is playing out. And that the Saudi assurances of enough oil for the next 50 years are face saving statements with no outside verification in decades.

"The Long Emergency" speculates on possible consequences of abruptly running out of cheap energy. Very interesting.
