We just got back from our 7-day trip to the World (Aug 13-20) and had a great time! Before my trip, I had asked on these boards whether Splash Mountain and Test Track were scary, and was encouraged by the responses to try them (thanks everyone). I have never (that's right, NEVER) been on a rollercoaster, and the drop in POC always put me on edge. But, I decided that the only thing I have to fear is fear itself and that I could live through the few seconds of terror I may have. I also wanted to show my kids that they could do anything they put their minds to.
Well, I am soooo glad I went on. First I tried Splash Mountain. Yes, my heart was pounding in line, but I decided to try to relax and enjoy the ride before the big drop. The first part is very relaxing and fun and I really liked the smaller drops. Then came a small drop in the dark which goes up afterwards. I was not that keen on this one, and started to worry about the final drop. However, as we were heading up, I told myself it will be so quick I won't have time to be scared. Well, the drop was fine. Did I enjoy it? No, because I didn't like the feeling of my stomach dropping. But it was not terrifying or anything. I did close my eyes which may have helped. Afterwards I was soooo happy I did it, I was very proud of myself. I even went on it the next time we went to MK. I was still scared, but it was really no big deal. I think next time I go on I will have very little fear.
I was so encouraged by Splash Mountain, that I decided to try Test Track. Again, my heart was pounding in line, but I looked at the very little kids in line and thought if they can do it, surely I can do it. Some people had said that the ride was the same as driving in a car. Well the lap at the end is more intense than that, since the car does tilt a little, but it was very fun. It was not as scary as the drop in Splash Mountain. I will definitely do this again too. Oh and I also went on Soarin (loved it, made sure I was in third row
) and Kali River Rapids (not scary at all).
So, for all other ride chickens out there, go for it! You will be so glad you did! My next goal is Big Thunder Mountain.
If anyone has questions, feel free to ask!
