I'll be going to high school next year for ninth grade. Im excited to go but kind of scared about the change. Does anyone have some tips? What is it like? e.t.c
Thx :thumbsup2

make friends with upperclasmen EARLY.

usually buy the 3rd week of school they already have their groups of friends and if your not in it then...good luck.

High school is scary at first but fun. I am a nineth grader and i love it! It is tougher than middle school, but it really is a lot of fun. Enjoy your time there it slips away fast. My brother will be a senior next year and his time just disapeared. So enjoy your time there and make it last. Always remember your time there! Because once you graduate and go to college, and then pursue your life it is the #1 thing you'll remember. Don't be scared it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Enjoy it and Have a great time!:thumbsup2

Aw, I'm a freshmen.
Nothing bad has happened to me.
Yet lol

I was a little... nervous... the first vouple of days at school, but then High School is so much fun! I love it!

Some upperclassmen will give you crap. Some won't.
Most of the time, if you leave the upperclassmen alone, they'll leave you alone.

High school is pretty intimidating at first, but after a while you realize that it isn't all that different.

Don't fall for any of the upperclassmen tricks (if they have any). At our school it was the infamous "third floor" trick.

Figure out where your classes are (my first day freshmen year I was late to every class..no lie)

Overall though...just relax, have fun and savour the new experience..

Speaking of freshman...I just went to orientation for HS. I just got home. It was so much fun!! We learned about classes and stuff. The only thing I didn't like was not all of the buildings were open for show and we had to tour the school by ourselves.

I'm a sophmore now, and I love highschool, it is a billion times better than junior high.
My tips for you would be, breathe, you'll be fine, its not nearly half as bad as you expect. Go to your locker and walk your classes and schedule before the first day. BIG HELP.
For the most part this year, if I didn't know someone was a freshmen I could hardly tell who was maybe jsut a new student or who was a freshmen.
Don't buy and elevator or pool passes.
Just have fun, talk to everyone, make friends, breathe, join clubs, sports etc. You'll be fine darling.

Don't worry about getting lost. There will be plenty of teachers around on the first day. And other students to help you. You'll see your friends don't worry about that either.

As far as the older kids go, it is not a big deal. They normally don't say anything to your face, just say your little behind your back.

Make sure you get friends fast because groups form in a snap.

Enjoy this time in your life, and have fun with it.

Normally HS is not a bad as junior high.

Don't worry what other kids think.

At my school junior high is 7th-9th, so here the freshmen are the big kids. 9th is still considered on a high school level. Don't worry brush it off.

It's cliche, but just be yourself. You will be much happier that way. I wasted so much time worrying about what people thought of me in ninth grade and that's one of the main things I really regret.

dont be stupid.

please.

if youre every worried about upperclassmen being mean, show them early that you have some intelligence level and youre going to have smoother sailing.

kill them with kindness. i cant stress that enough.

take harder classes early on. for me, i loathe any form of school p.e. classes. we're required to have a class, and i took it freshman year and got it the heck out of the way. ive had it easy ever since.

get involved. join something, anything. but make sure its something youre willing to devote yourself to and have fun with. you dont understand how good clubs and school improvement hours look on college applications.

have fun. dont let the little things get to you. turn the other cheek. dont carry anger. do your homework. dont wait to the last minute. make more friends then boyfriends. smile more, frown less.

I was freaking out when I began Middle School.

"Kill people with kindness." That was the only advice my mom would give me. Kill the people with kindness. That's how I made friends, that's how I made sure people would know who I am. I'm not someone who doesn't stand up for themselves, yet I'm nice.

Kill them with kindness. Do it. You'll survive. It's easy.

oh and for lunch.
get a table FIRST then go get food.

if your schools anything like mine..thats the most important thing ever

Expect a lot of crap from the upperclassmen.

The reason we give you all crap, its because 90% of the time, you all act completely immature.

Another piece of advice, don't bring your middle school attitude. Mature a little.

exactly.

realize that you arent the greatest thing to grace this world.
realize that there are other people the polar opposite of you and thats okay.
realize its alright to make mistakes. just learn from them once in a while.
realize that not everyone is a genius, but it takes courage to try harder.
realize you will laugh, cry, hate, love, smile, frown, dream, dread, more than you ever have before in your life.
pretend its a big video game. the higher points you score, the nicer the reward.
dont look down. look up. its a nicer view. :3
