Scammed (Rant)

Hi, i was recently trading for inferno earlier today. The person i was trading with liked my offer and showed me that he had inferno. I traded him the first 15 quest items and then the second we got out of trade he left and deleted me off his friend's list. Now, i didn't lose anything that valuable except my two haunted mansion pins but I am shocked at how anyone could do that to a person, its just so .. rude and not nice. This has taught me that whenever i do big trades, I'm trading with a community leader or a trusted person from the dis.

I'm so sorry. That's awful. I've had a similar situation happen recently with a "friend" on vmk. I hope this doesn't affect the rest of your VMK experiences and the joy that comes from playing Sad how a few bad apples can spoil it for people.

You aren't the only one. This happened to me. Of course, I was furious, because I had lost green tea cup the day before.

Now, I do the same thing, community leader, or if they want I offer either:

Community leader
or
Giving stitch first trade, with 15 items they pick in first trade.

I am so sorry sea! It is terrible when things like this happen to anyone, but you are such a nice person. It isn't fair. I don't have any haunted mansion pins but please let me help you replace some of your stuff. Pm me and let me know what you lost.

Well, i feel bad but at the same time, it is sort of your fault in my opinion, since you were doing the trade with over 15 items with out a community leader/trusted person around..

I advise everyone to call for a CL whenever any major trade is taking place. I've probably been called 15 times for large trades, and aside from one successful trade, all the others resulted in the unknown person saying, "What do you need a leader for?" and/or disappearing off the face of the virtual earth. That's a sure sign that that trade was going to be bad! Although I personally do not like being in the trade monitor position, or holding onto other people's valuable items, I know it is a vital part of the job.

Use the contact us fast. Many of my friends have gotten' their items back from scams, by using the contact us.
Include as much detail as possible, and be honest.

Yes, write to contact us and give them as many details as possible, including the other party's vmk name, date, time and location of the trade. List everything you lost to the other person. It is still possible the logs and trade will be reviewed and your things returned.

True, but what if the person in return doesn't trust you. They probably won't want that either. Hmm..trading is hard. Why limit 15?

Valid opinion as well! That one trade that I actually assisted on took some time and I had a VMK pass to a host event. I told them this ahead of time, but they still wanted me there. I was scared to death that the dc monster would pick that time to toss me off, or that somebody in the host room said something that got the room a ban!

I agree with Goofy that using contact us is the only way to go on this issue. When ppl have come to me in the game asking for help in getting back "lost" items, that's what I tell them.

I'm sorry I can't take your items I'd feel bad, thanks though . I figure the person that did this is just a bad person, and karma will come back to them eventualy

LOL yeah i agree, they need to make the trade window, thing to show the items bigger, so we wont have as many scams.. They should have fixed that.. not the tiki torch head.
