VMKHELPER : Hello, you are one of the many people who have been chosen in the vmk certified helper campaign. what we basically do is just go on your player and help you with rare stuff and give you a special surprise room if you are up for it leave your Member Name and Password.
VMKHELPER : you up for it?

don't give out your password and username no matter what.

This has happened over and over! NEVER give anyone your log in information!! VMK Staff DO NOT need this info to add items to your account. Anyone asking for this is not trying to help you, they are trying to SCAM you.

Don't give it out in any email, IM, PM, anywhere!

yes definitely a scam- they IM'd me earlier... and I have stong suspicions as to the true identity of this person and have sent my information to the moderators here on DIS

Remember- that VMK staff never need the information from you to add things to your account- they have staff magic that lets them do that without a trivial thing like passwords and member names

And to the person who is doing this scam... why don't you have the people you helped- post here and prove that it isn't a scam...
have them include their vmk names as well as dis names and im names-

Yes, we know who this is, we will deal with them on the DIS and I have also forwarded their information along with some IM transcripts to VMK.

PLEASE be smart when you receive these. VMK does not need your ID nor would they ever contact you on IM.

No, but if he gave this person his VMK ID, the odds are he has been completely cleaned out or will be soon.

Never Ever give out your Password to Anyone! (Except maybe your parents). But not even to your best friend, your brother or sister.

Never allow anyone to have access to your account. Remember that you are responsible for your account and what ever may happen while your account is logged on. This includes your account being scammed or your account being used to scam.

If someone has your user name and password, they can change your password and you can lose not only all your stuff, but your character as well.
